    I record myself playing pool...

IIRC you were kinda a dick the other day but all is forgiven. (If not you, then someone else with the same avatar) lol Seriously though, all good. Written expression has its limitations. First off, you'd be better served if more than one answer was an option. My story: Previously, I was...

    Interesting Piece of Mosconi Memorabilia

Would look good inside a framed picture of Mosconi. Maybe a photo where he appears to be gambling. Kinda blah on it's own.

Benefits of joining an APA league?

Back to the benefits. I know they have discounts available related to travel, car rental, and hotels.

Benefits of joining an APA league?

With all due respect, a trip to Vegas doesn't change what I shared. Nor my reason for sharing it. The winners even agree. Right is right. There's nothing "appreciative" in charging Captains $55 bucks for a no-frills tournament. Again, that $55 is actually higher than any other tournament APA...

Benefits of joining an APA league?

I curious how winning would change any of it?

Benefits of joining an APA league?

Individually, yes. However, there's no prize money in league. To "get into money" of any kind, the first step is playing in qualifiers and other events, and winning. All those have entry fees, too. It starts adding up. On that note, I would like to share an experience from only a couple shorts...

Benefits of joining an APA league?

    1) APA is pool. 2) APA is time and money, ahem, consuming. The two are not mutually exclusive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: Professional aspirations. No beginner will ever ascend to the professional ranks without practicing 8-hours/day, every day...

I'd like to discuss cue acceleration

Bingo! This is my aiming/warm-up drill that works best for me. The operative phrase is "as softly as possible." The idea is to slow-roll, enough that it may not drop if it rubs. A win is when it rolls right to the edge and appears to almost stop, before it drops. One thing I do when I'm...

I'd like to discuss cue acceleration

Sure, make jokes. And I will just keep practicing and getting to "that place" faster, and more often. ;)

I'd like to discuss cue acceleration

Sorry, but the mechanics involved and their exact proportions when you're 'out of your mind' defy explanation.

Have you tried gripping loosey-goosey & snapping that wrist like you're throwing a long dart through an engine block?

Practice x practice (practice + practice) = PIITH Once you find it, you will just know. Then you'll be 'putting it in the hole'.

APA Vegas this Month - Who is going?

If you're going for pool, the actual venue is your best option. A few years ago, we decided to quit staying on the strip. Now days it's overpriced and under-delivers. From rooms, to drinks, to table limits. Been there, done that. We have more fun downtown (where prices are 'normal') and usually...

APA Vegas this Month - Who is going?

That's fair. It's the closest. But yeah, I don't intend to stay there. Thanks

APA Vegas this Month - Who is going?

UPDATE: I need the 28th and 29th. If anyone is interested in selling your room at Westgate for a little walking-around money, shoot me a PM. Maybe shack-up with a teammate?? Likely we will need to complete check-in together (since the room is already booked under you through APA), then add me...

    8 ball handicaps

You were probably averaging one or two innings for a minimum of year prior to BNR-ing every 4/5 racks. That's still a 7 around here. :)

    8 ball handicaps

Sure. In the Twin Cities that's an upper, top-tier 7. Hence the issue with Vegas aspirations in APA. SLs are highly regionally-sensitive. Highly. With a huge disparity between larger and smaller regions. It's just baffling to me, that region isn't accounted for at Nationals in some form or fashion.

    Identifying a cue with xrays

Cool concept. Seems like it could help slim the field when there's multiple possibilities.

    8 ball handicaps

In what conceivable region is a "6 who has a bnr once every 4/5 racks", a 6!!??
