    pool table speed test

http://billiards.colostate.edu/PBReview/Stimpmeter1.htm lots and lots of variables here .....I think ideal is 4 1/2 - 5 rails with a firm hit from end to end .... did you have your rails re-calibrated to fit modern rubber? do you have modern rubber?

    What Table to Purchase?

I don't think all are producing "great equipment" diamond is the way to go, any gold crown you buy will have to be modified to play as good as a diamond. Olhausen is not even in the same class. why? because Diamond has a one piece slate, multi-point leveling system, the best rubber, best...

Anyway to take fix slate warpage

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=147393&highlight=slate+warp seems it is a bit controversial if the slate is actually technically "warping" or not but it does / can change shape over time. The above thread argues both ways.

Its been a long time!! Need some info---with pics of AMF

it's funny because he knew not to stack facings to close the pocket and he knew the subrails had to be extended to close the pocket. why not just cut a piece of wood and nail it to the subrail instead of stacking and shaping rubber?

    custom pool table

isn't it obvious? "K66 cushions play at their best when the sub-rail is set at 1 5/8" thick, with a nose height of 1 3/8". K55 cushions play their best when the sub-rail is 1 11/16" thick and a nose height of 1 29/64"ths...but no cushions really play at their best with a sub-rail thickness of 1...

K66 or K55 for Brunswick Gold Crown III?

that probably means they were modified to take k-66. but they should have been modified to take k-55 because that is the correct cushion for that subrail thickness ... so you can put k-66 on again or have the subrails modified to take k-55 which would be more correct for the table. that's my...

what is the rail height with the k66 on ?

    K66 vs K55 ... playability

still won't change the bank angle. if i hit a ball harder it will compress the rail more but the angle of bank won't change. if there is no spin on the ball that is. obviously a heavier ball at the same velocity will compress the rubber more, but the angle of return won't change .....

Is it the cloth or the install?

this belongs in the hackwork section .....did the guy even try to stretch the cloth or did he just lay it gently like a table cloth and install the rails .... this has to be a joke.

    K66 vs K55 ... playability

if the balls are the same size why would weight change the bank angle?

    K66 vs K55 ... playability

it's not that one is better than the other; the issue is that the bevel and thickness of the subrail have to match either for k55 or k66 if they do then the play will be identical assuming that the same rubber is used.

    Brunswick Wellington...?

just out of curiosity what is the rail height?

    Brunswick Wellington...?

yeah ...k-55's would work okay but make the playing surface small. k-66's need to be set really low on the setting strip .....they don't look right but they play pretty good and keep the surface correct. however getting the recalibration is the way to go ... I am just wondering why artemis or...
