    Alex, a hustler?

Alex has approved the table, as reported elsewhere.

Table positioning in a room with an impediment

Good job, and here I thought you would have to change your name to Short Cue Russ.

    Alex, a hustler?

I didn’t say it was irrelevant information, but it doesn’t directly correlate. For example, if YL Chang (who has the same fargorating as Alex) plays Justin Hall on that table with that spot, my money is on Justin all day. Indeed, Justin might be the favourite without a spot.

    Alex, a hustler?

Don't forget the spot - 9/8 and 8/7. I don't think you can correlate Fargorate to 1P, or SVB would be spotting Alex and T-Rex and that will never happen. Better question might be what is being #1 or #2 in the world in 1p to wherever Justin is.

SVB vs. Cory Duel barbox race to 25 for $5K from 2008

I just learned a new trick! Putting a cigarette under the cushion to aid in seeing if the ball is frozen.

Huge Action Alex Pagulayan vs Justin Hall LIVE July 31 who do you guys like ?

If' you're talking about Alex, 5' 4" might be generous. But as Blue Jay pitcher Marcus Stroman says, "height doesn't measure heart".

We can love his game and still hate the fish shake.

    41/2'' pockets

Certainly my experience is that balls drop on 7' Diamonds that would hang up on the 9' Diamonds. I believe this is due to shorter shelves on the 7'. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Dennis Orcullo Giving Up Some Big Weight $...

PT109 reported here that it was $8,000 (and that may have only been Alex's end as he wasn't taking all of the action - it wasn't clear to me whether that was Alex's end or the whole amount Team Alex won). $8,000 for 3-4 days is better than the winner of most pro events these days!

US Open 10 Ball - Seeded Brackets

"Open" means open to me. No artificial barriers. If we ever get to a situation in which we have full fields and lots of competition for spots, then I could understand some debate on the issue, but until then why have empty spots when dead money wants to enter? Indeed some places will hold...

Why do Filipino spectators touch and crowd the table during matches?

So Carlo Biado (who won the most prestigious event in the world, the World 9b Championships in 2017) is an older player? 34 is older? Lee Vann Corteza (who just won the Japan Open) is older? He's 39. Dennis Orcollo is also 39. James Aranas is like 12 (okay, early 20s) and he's world class...

US Open 10 Ball - Seeded Brackets

Perhaps they used an earlier version of the Fargo list when they did the seeding. Based on the list I looked at today, Aranas would be 3, Kaçi 4 and Alex 5. But obviously the list changes so I suspect it’s a timing issue.

US Open 10 Ball - Seeded Brackets

I think the second paragraph reflects a bigger issue than the first. I certainly understand why it makes sense to give the byes to the top seeds and why that might be the preferable system, but I don't think it is required, even acknowledging that I've never run a seeded event in my life. On...

US Open 10 Ball - Seeded Brackets

I don't think seeding implies that the higher seeds get the bye. Looking at the brackets they did the seeding for the top players for sure - Dennis and Shane (the two players) won't meet until the end of the A side. I think they did the fair thing - put the top 16 players in the spots and then...

    US Open 10-ball

I don't think it is that complicated. Call the ball unless its obvious. If you miss, the other player is up and plays the balls where they lay. No "option" and no need to call safe.

Why do Filipino spectators touch and crowd the table during matches?

Really? I’ve seen many money matches between top Pinoys on YouTube where both players regularly concede the 10b (they get perfect on the 10 anyway). I always thought it just respect - is more going on?
  18. GideonF

Why do Filipino spectators touch and crowd the table during matches?

The touching the table is usually one of two things. First, many times they are picking small flying insects off the table - the tables are often outside and it is night time - bugs attracted to the light. Second, they play CB fouls only but mark balls that might be disturbed (like if you...

FargoRate: World Top 100 with recent changes

No, that's only when you started suggesting we weren't inherently better at hockey. I grudgingly accept that we can go down in other fields.

FargoRate: World Top 100 with recent changes

I don't understand the "changes". How can Alex have gone down three spots when no one above him is marked as going up to pass him? I'm sure I'm missing something.
