The BCA Pool League (CSI) rules have a very useful “applied rulings” that does this - probably from issues that have arisen at their events or questions from leagues. I often look at it when weird issues arise (eg whether a ball is “frozen” to a rail when it is only touching fibers from the rail).

A ball should not pop out of another pocket from the ball return no matter how hard you hit it. The fact that Diamond sent a technician out to fix it speaks volumes. Also, unless someone is slamming the ball in for no reason, they probably aren’t “hitting too hard” - they are hitting hard...

Apparently in this case Diamond saw the video and sent a technician out to fix the table. I don’t think a properly functioning ball return does this.

The ref said it was indeed a good hit on the yellow. The point of my post was to point out that because he thought he MIGHT have fouled he wanted the ref to check.

I have seen that done once. I think in that circumstance people would in fact treat it as other than a normal break (no push etc)
