The engraving on the joint was offered in the late 80’s? early 90’s? as an option. I think it was done by Laser Art or something like that. Let me see if I have an ad for it Edit. Not sure if it was an option. The brochure came with a joss catalog and had options and a price list.

Nice cues. Love the contrast between the ebony and rosewood. Very warm.

Appears to be a model 24.

Nothing about this cue leads me to believe this is a joss.

Here is an oddball. Block letter Joss from one of the Varner series in the 1980's Most from this series were marked differently. See next post

Multiple series of cues from Joss for Varner. At least 4 series I am aware of.

WW Posted some pics in the gallery thread. I have not seen a white letter cue with full sharp points.

Crap. One more pic of points from the early 80's. Cue on left is 1982 Cue on right is 1983 There was a period in which the outside veneer was rounded and the inner veneers were sharp.

from what I have seen point construction changed after the diamond series. The diamond series were sharp. The early white letter series had a rounded outside veneer with sharp points inside. 1982 and 1983 Later on in the white letter series the veneers changed again and were all rounded. I...

One more and I will stop cluttering up this thread...... Writing under wrap. It is a nick Varner series Joss cue from what appears to be 1987.

Just figured out how to crop photos.....

1985 with a purple heart handle under wrap. Of note is the handwritten number "18". Hard to make out. Cue happens to be a J18 model.
