Are Kamui Clear tips a gimmick???

LOL! I don't beat horses. I'm just going to ride out on the one I rode in on. You'll have to find something else to do.

I didn't expect to wake up to this...

I agree this isn't a good response for anyone to give and especially a business. I do understand itsfroze's point also, which is as funny as some of the comments about them. lol. Me personally, I'll put up with a lot of sh!t to be able to play or watch a good game of pool.

Are Kamui Clear tips a gimmick???

Your point is noted. However, none of my comments insinuated otherwise. I always said cost was the reason I wouldn't buy another. I mentioned the mushrooming initially because as others, I had experienced it and like someone mentioned, it does seem to "break in" (get harder) eventually. I...

    Consistency

I whole heartedly agree, Pidge. Having clearly defined and repeatable processes for both your PSR and stroke mechanics are vital to establishing sound fundamentals and developing muscle memory/auto-pilot, etc. It's like when we first learned to ride a bike. We did all these things in a...

Are Kamui Clear tips a gimmick???

Lordy! You do understand value don't you? At 20+ dollars...its value is not any greater than a 50 cent tip, imo. It was the first time I used a soft or super soft and yes, I was a little surprised but I understand the physics. But the physics isn't why I wouldn't buy another, it's the cost...

    Dufferin Sneaky Pete Replacement

You can still get a Dufferin one piece cue from Ozone billiards for about $40. I'm thinking of doing the same because I always loved those sticks. I also have played a lil with a Players sneaky, and I own the one that's made by Action. I like the Action, especially considering the $60 price I...

    How Would Play This Layout?

I'd probably hit rail first and try to kick the 1 ball behind the 5 & 6. Just not sure by the pics if I could get it to the long rail so probably off the short. If I can get behind the 1 enough to play off the long rail for a two way on the 9, I'd probably attempt that.

Are Kamui Clear tips a gimmick???

I have a super soft original/tan Kamui clear on one of my cues. Although I liked the hit, it was a little disappointing at first because the it would flatten after what seemed like just a night or two of play, and would try to mushroom after reshaping it the first couple of times. But, this...

How Would You Play This Layout?

Well, at least you know a good thing when you see it and take something worth stealing.

'Edgie' Geronimo! A new talent to pool!

I've watched Edgy play about half a dozen matches now (thanks POVPOOL!) and he is a strong short stop. I suspect he'll season quickly as a pro.

Free At Last!!! Retired to do what I want to!!

Congrats on making it across the finish line. Sounds like you made it in time to savor the victory. I know you've talked about a lot of ideas for giving pool the shot in the ass it needs. Best wishes for your well deserved retirement. :)

Thanks for the thread ONB. I enjoyed reading the responses from everyone too. Love this format.

    The era of the "poke-stroke"

I learned how to play on an old 10 footer with directional cloth. It was at the boys and girls club in my town. I went there everyday for a couple summers and while I didn't develop a strong stroke, I did develop a straight one by having to shoot from one end of the table to the other all the...

    Back to pool.

    1. The soreness could just be because you haven't played in a while and will go away the more you get used to playing again. It could also be from being too tense, or too tight so try to play loose and smooth. That's also a key to shooting straight. 2. A key to learning to shoot straight...

Weekly tournaments 7 days a week and twice a day on weekends?

Bar tournaments can be found almost anywhere, almost any day of the week.

break shot on older table - balls don't spread?

Good question. I just played in a new local tournament for the first time Thursday night and experienced, mostly the same scenario. But in this case, everything but the cloth was old and ragged. No different than in other bars here in town but both of these tables were extremely stingy on the...

How Would You Run These Balls?

Me too. I like what ONB did by taking a layout from a pro match and allowing people to give their take before showing how the pro executed. It's a great thread format, imo.
