Is Ivory cue sticks going to raise? Cue Builders are unable to use Ivory since 2011.

As of 7/6/2016 a Federal ivory ban was put into place. What this meant is that nothing new was supposed to be made using ivory after that date. There is no distinction after this point about pre-ban, etc. Any cue made after this date, with ivory, ANYWHERE is technically contraband. All sales of...

    Cortland Linen Wrap

To get real Cortland 9-27 white with green spec will cost you whatever you end up buying the material for. I would say 100-150 maybe plus install. Would anyone know the difference between this and newer linen from a playing standpoint if they were blindfolded?

    Ivory spelling?

The bigger issue is most people will take a law that is complicated and try to reword it, so it fits whatever they need it to fit. The ivory laws are very clear, it may take a time or two, but it isn't rocket science. I took a quick trip to the FS section, and it took me 11 seconds to find an...

My friend got ahold of his late Dad's Gus...

I would agree if the son/daughter had an interest in the game. In the past few years, I have sold some very nice cues for people who could care less about pool, they just had minimal pleasure knowing it was their father's hobby. I will face the same dilemma because my kids have zero interest in...

    Ivory spelling?

Thats not an answer to the question. If I stay within the bounds of the current law, can I sell them? The answer is yes, just like you can also sell a turn of the century BBC cue with an ivory joint. The point is, know the law.

Again, laws. Operating within the framework is legal. If it is legal for me to sell 100 year old set of ivory billiard balls why shouldn't I?

Well one thing is for certain based on some opinions here.. there are laws for a reason, and some people just are in denial on both sides of the argument.

The rumor mill has other people currently at risk. I spent two weeks e-mailing a FWS rep and received acceptance to author Deminimus declaration documents. That being said, you definitely cannot export or import, from any state (out of US). There is a provision for 100 year old antiques...

Here was a Palmer donor cue, Szamboti forearm. We salvaged this for that reason and Steve Klein made a Bushka inspired design cue. One of my favorites.
