Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

How many backbreaking losses can the US endure? Never seen anything like it. They should have won both team matches and at least one singles. This is not a talent contest. It’s a pool smarts and mental contest.

He could have. Probably would have bumped the 9,but knocked it toward the corner. No matter. Tyler has burnished his rep as a choker. Sad to see. He played great.

Tyler should have demanded the ref silence the crowd and gather himself again. His mistake. I didn’t like a draw on the eight.

I've posted what I think of Tyler, but to be frank, I don't think Fargo does him justice. Styler ranks 26th on the WNT tour. Looking at the top 50-60 players in the WNT rankings, and cross checking vs the Fargo top 100, I think Tyler is probably among the top 50 players in the world. Once you...

Tyler's Fargo is listed at 791. Check out Top 100 US on the Fargo page. Ties him with Gomez.

Thorpe is not a world class player. Styer is borderline. Can he make another push? Or has he reached his ceiling? I am not sure. He has great fundamentals and at times plays superb. He beat Filler and Oi to get to the 2025 UK Open SEMI-finals, and he really should have beaten the eventual...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Tyler tends to baby shots the closer he gets to the finish line. He lacks the confidence to let his stroke out and swing the ball around like Filler or SVB will do. His caution kills him time and again. He'll move the ball as little as possible and leave himself tough. The U.S. really should...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Captains should have the ability to pinch hit one player per day in any match on the final two days of the event. Would be a nice twist.

Biggest surprise to me on Day Two was Shane Van Boening emerging as the leader. I did not expect that. But now that he has, I think SVB has to be the leader from now on. Forget that he supposedly doesn't have the personality. He can do it - he just did. He is a lead by example kind of guy...

Nah. A person would have to really have issues to put this much effort into what I post on here.:) How many lags does Shane have to lose before another player gets a chance.

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

This has become an oddly compelling event. Seeing how many ways Team USA can find a way to lose. At least the players are putting up a fight. Styer and Gorst gave it their all, mistakes and all. SVB is the only one really playing his game, though.

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

He babied the 7. He babies shots a lot in tight spots. But a high ball on the 8 still would have been better.

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

First, he should have played high ball on the 8. Second, he should have played safe on the 9. Woodward blew it badly, then Tyler. How many ways can Team USA find to give points to the Euros? An endless number of ways, it seems. Just takes all the oxygen out of the event.

At least two US players did the same.

Does every US player have to take a turn at absolutely sucking? Evidently so.

Billy was playing smart, but the banker made too big of a gamble. He should have played safe. Time and again, the U.S. takes chances it shouldn't. Done 4-0, not the time to try a bank. Even if Thorpe made it, position on the next ball was not guaranteed.

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

I don't care about the general state of U.S. pool. I don't really even care if the U.S. wins, to be honest. I just want to see a competitive event. A competitive Mosconi imo is the most entertaining event in pro pool. Great way to end the season. Fact is, I like all the Euro players. Been a...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

I strongly disagree with the idea the Americans aren't taking the event seriously. They are tired of getting embarrassed year after year. I know I would be. They want to win. They want to win so badly, I'd contend, that they put undue pressure on themselves. The only guy I'd fault is Woodward...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

You are spot on. The U.S. has not broken as well. I think Gorst and SVB both had dry breaks in their doubles loss, and Fedor scratched twice on breaks yesterday. Safety play is another bugaboo. Europe got some lucky rolls, but they almost never attempt low percentage shots. The US does it...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Shaw and the Euro team announced a few weeks before the International they were skipping the event and holing up in Scotland for almost two weeks. Widely known. The U.S. team got together after the International and evidently had a week of structured practice. I don't think any team needs more...
