Seeking Input: Archer ‘93 vs. Today

Filler playing defense is something to watch. The moment you think you have him hooked, he's got you worse. For those that hate the short sticks: he also has the best 2-rail kick and stick I've ever seen and he does it all the time.

    (Un)Popular Opinion on Fargo Rate

When i was bowling in college i got to share lanes with some guys that ended up being pros. They just don't miss. Was reminded of that when i saw the PBA strike contest on (at the pool hall, of course). Belmo threw like 10 shots in a row at exactly 18.3mph and <1% variation in RPM. In a timed...

    (Un)Popular Opinion on Fargo Rate

It's stunning the difference between excellent players (in anything) and professionals. The skill gap to world class talent is immense.

Measle ball is a training ball

My point is seeing how the CB is spinning after it hits something. I know we've all had shots that the CB doesn't do what it was supposed to. The spots make that easier to see if you mis-hit it or if the spin just didn't take.

Measle ball is a training ball

The only time I notice them lining up for a shot is when I'm breaking. I just turn it so I'm hitting a white section. It's certainly not an aiming aid and really the only thing to learn from it is how spin is transferred (odd skids, imparted spin on OBs, etc). But that's all after contact.

    Chalk temp...????????

100%. Since we're on bikes, they make a perfect example (road bikes): They're designed to be incredibly stiff in their intended load direction (from the bottom bracket and bars to the wheels). They can tolerate the 1400+ watts top riders can put through them with very little flex. Hit the frame...

    Tip keeps getting shredded

I've used picks on layered tips forever with no issues. I would just avoid the really coarse scuffers, but i think many are too aggressive to begin with and just take off too much material.

    Chalk temp...????????

You're referring to road frames where minimal weight is one of the primary goals and they are not subject to frequent impact. Carbon mountain bikes are ridiculously strong and stiffer than metal frames.

    TAOM V10 BLUE

The octagonal blocks roll pretty bad too. Drop it on your foot and it's gonna end up on the other side of the room.

    TAOM V10 BLUE

100%. Doesn't make a mess of your hands, table, shaft, case and it lasts far longer. I'm like 1/8" into my current Pure block and it's around 6 months old. I would have gone thru several Master or 1080 blocks in that time. Unless you're someone that loses chalk i think it's worth the money...

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

I've Been Invited to Compete in the WNT European Open!

Cheap flight to Europe then take the train. Probably faster once you include connections/layovers.

A buddy's V10 before i finally badgered him into replacing it. You could see the bottom wrapper. Talk about getting your money's worth.

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

I like being able to see the corners/edges of the table and not hit my head on the lights (I'm short, how is this even a problem???). :) But, agree to disagree.(y)

Sounds like a job for Adam Turman (look up his stuff, it's ridiculous).

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

100% disagree. The perimeter lights are amazing and what I'll have if I can find a place (reasonably priced) with a room big enough for the table... They also have brightness settings. They also allow you to turn down/off the ceiling lights in a pool hall if you have a bunch of them.

Tables: - 1 x carrom table for giggles - 1 x snooker table (would be popular in MSP) - 4 x tight 9' tournament Diamonds (shark grey, Aramith Black (w/orange 5/13 ;))) with overhead cameras - 3:1 Diamond bar boxes : bucket 9' Diamonds (tournament blue, Aramith Pro Cup) - More space between tables...

    Chalk temp...????????

I'm sure if it's insanely cold and you're pounding on it, but they've been making hockey sticks and protective gear, skis, fat bikes, etc out of carbon for years that take far more abuse at low temps.
