Is there a way to make the new website appear and function on an iPhone in the same way that it does on a desktop ("Classic" format vs. "Mobile" format)? Thank you.

Cues With Rectangles/Windows In Butt Sleeve

Here’s the butt sleeve of the JW that I purchased new in 1979. Five maple windows in ebony. Still have it and will never part with it.

How to find out, how far away is your high run goal .

This post (and its predecessor from SJM suggesting that a 1/3 guy has a shot), together with the following statement from Kanzzo in one of his posts - “And it depends on the amount of concentrated training and attempts you put in” - got me thinking. I am among those who have 100 balls as a...

Somewhere in the world where the politicians didn't panic

Kindly advise as to what data source(s) you are relying on here. There is a fair amount being written about undercounting. For example, FL nursing home numbers. See, for example...

Somewhere in the world where the politicians didn't panic

I’m glad you clarified that. I certainly understood your thinking on whether it is real. But your earlier post (#20) began with “I don't take issue with the views expressed by anyone in this thread.” One of those views was that you are “a sheep who watches cnn and thinks this is all real and...

Somewhere in the world where the politicians didn't panic

SJM - While I applaud your closing sentiment - a wish of hope to all to survive these tough times and be able to move on to a positive future, I think it is unhelpful to validate any and all views, no matter how unfounded or mean-spirited. Starting with ... whether the Corona virus is real...

Somewhere in the world where the politicians didn't panic

Sir - The Financial Times put together a fairly deep look at excess deaths: https://www.ft.com/content/6bd88b7d-3386-4543-b2e9-0d5c6fac846c It showed that for a two month period - March and April - excess deaths in NYC were about 300 percent higher than the average for that same two month...

    Johnny Ervolino

Bob - The shot at 59:00 - foul? Looked like it, to me. That seemed to be the consensus of the commentators, although they debated it for a while. One consideration: despite the belief of the commentators, I’m not sure that the CB is frozen. Maybe it was. Just not possible to be sure of...

A VERY SAD DAY - RIP Bill Stroud

RIP Mr. Stroud, and sincerest condolences to his family. His work is legendary, for good reason. He brought so much to the art, and I sense it was because he was such an independent thinker. Here is a dimension of that independent thinking of which I was not aware until just now, when I...

Top 10 Things You Need to Know about THROW

Yes, Byrne’s Standard Book of Pool and Billiards was my first source (I would say only source, by Ray Martin’s 99 Shots was also an instruction source for me). Interestingly, Byrne minimized the existence of squirt, which left me, for years, of the mind that throw was basically a SIT thing. I...

Top 10 Things You Need to Know about THROW

Yes, there it is. I was focusing on Section 6, which addresses Maximum Throw, and the demonstration and discussion there does not include anything about adding spin and thereby causing even more throw.

Top 10 Things You Need to Know about THROW

Yes, but what about the application of spin? Are you saying that, assuming one has already, and properly, set up to maximize friction (and will be striking the CB at the speed that will maximize throw), it makes no difference, in a frozen ball combination scenario, whether spin is applied or not?
