my mentor felt that a 7 foot table was just as tough as a nine, because the balls were the same size but the table smaller so they occupied a greater percentage of the table area. granted shots aren't as long, but the ease of snookering/playing defense was greater on a bar box.

I am not an expert, but went to Vegas for BCA and VNEA tourneys from 1994 to 2000 at the Riviera and it was fun and affordable. Now not so much, everything is very expensive with resort fees, high food and drink prices. Last time I went was August 2014, stayed off strip at a Marriott property...

buy a good, very good, used table. they never wear out. and you can save a bunch on the front end of the deal. Let someone else eat the first year's depreciation. Find a motivated seller, i.e. somebody who is moving and can't take the table with them.
