Best Jump Cue to get up and over from a ball width away?

Any of them--literally !! Now when it gets to a match-stick away, it is a different story.

    Understanding Cue Shaft Flexibility

I read a Jack Nicolas golf book where he states something similar--in general, Jack plays the fade (a very slight slice) for the same reasons you note--better overall results.

    Does it Make Any Sense?

It depends on where the shooter wants CB to land after potting the ball. Better action off the rails, less chance to nip the tip of the pocket with OB.

Does it seem like everyone is a Flipper / Reseller these days?

As to the "everyone" hyperbolae:: I have not bought nor sold any pool related equipment (except tip replacements) in 10 years.

    Prize money

The average golfer spends more on golf balls than the average pool player spends on chalk cubes per year. The average golfer spends more on greens fees than the average pool player spends on table time per year. The average golfer spends more on golf clubs than the average pool player spends on...

    Carpet under pool table?

I had a Perian rug under my 8-footer for a decade. The rug was on the short side and hung out about 1 foot on the sides and less than 6" on the ends. When the table comes out of storage it will have a larger rug under it so most shots have your feet on the rug and not on the floor. This is...

    What shaft?

Do NOT change ANYTHING until the rust is well gone. You need to redevelop your skills so that when this time comes, you can actually tell the difference. The biggest advantage of a new shaft is that it is free from dings--no really. Whether wood, or CF, or kevlar/glass it really does not matter...

    Understanding Cue Shaft Flexibility

Let us consider that you might be right and that whippier shafts deliver more energy and more spin to CB. If that were correct, then an even whippier shaft would deliver even more energy and even more spin. So a shaft which is uniformly 9mm in diameter from the tip to within 1" of the joint...

quick question for you all about draw shots

Side spin:: You can draw back from a shot and arc the CB in either direction by using side spin along with draw. The classical way is known as "after massé"

    Understanding Cue Shaft Flexibility

This is where you are W R O N G. When the flexible shaft bends it takes longer to release the energy than the cue-tip is in contact with the CB; and thus, cannot deliver that energy to CB. Tip is in contact with CB for only 1-2 milliseconds Yet, your eye can see the bending and unbending--and...

Understanding Cue Tip Softness and Spin

So, you disbelieve your own eyes ?!? {hint:: not a good starting point}} {{That is Dr Dave has video evidence that your postulate is simply wrong, and then he developed a mathematical framework showing your are wrong.}} So, to win this in argument form, you need to provide scientifically valid...

Trigger Finger……….Has Anyone Ever Had This Medical Problem?

I have a brother who played enough tennis at a high level (state champion) that at age 50 his elbow would not allow for his arm to be straight (about 20º was as close as it would go). Accumulated high stress damage to the bones at the joints.

Hey Bob Jewett, is Progressive Practice what I need?

The the margin for error is based on the distance from OB to pocket not CB to OB. So, at increasing CB-OB lengths the OB to pocket length is decreasing, largely compensating the former. In a realistic sense, the aim point is that same 0.5mm spot on OB no mater the distance.

    Not the Cheat'in Kind

This is the lower deflection of the Z2 being different than the 314. For the record, it took me 6 fully months to fully adjust to the Z2 from the 314. And it took me 3+ months to adjust from the Z2 to a Z2-S-tuned.
