    Laminated tips are to be shaped by stroking (with sand paper) from the center of the tip to the edge ONLY. If you stroke from edge to center it is EASY to rupture the glue bond between layers. If you stroke meridionally across the edge, you can rupture the glue bonds, too.

    Chalk temp...????????

    My guess is that freezing chalk will cause it to absorb moisture from the air and become damp. Damp chalk plays terrible. Although you can heat it in a microwave oven for 30 seconds to make it degas the absorbed water--just don't touch it until it cools back down (more than 5 minutes).
