    Is it a legal bank shot when...

    This brings up the question, how far away from a cushion does a ball have to be before contact is non-incidental ?? Do we have a situation where a ball x-mm from the rail is incidental and a ball (x+0.1)-mm from the rail is non-incidental ??? Does this not lead to judgement calls and other...

    WPA vs WNT break format

    Why ?? It seems to me that Corey soft-breaks with as good a set of outcomes as anyone that hard-breaks. Pool is about snatching games from your opponent--any non-fouling means to get that done should be encouraged.

    DCC "Go Fund Me"

    Things to consider for those forum members buying their first pool cue

    When buying your first pool cue there are 2 important rules:: a) your eye must like the look of the cue b) your hand must like the feel of the cue Everything else is superfluous:: 1) you can change the dynamic of the hit with by changing the tip 2) you can change the weight by removing the...

    When Did Simonis Become The #1 Tournament Choice?

    Back in the 1970s, our Frat house brother (Doodle) and pool table tech would only allow us to redo the table with Simonis cloth. He had a myriad of arguments. All I know is that he was correct in the choice of cloth.

    8 Ball Break - Hitting the 2nd Ball

    I watch the rack as the triangle is lifted. A lose or slugged rack gets hit behind the head ball, whereas a tight rack gets hit on head ball 1 diamond off the side rail and 1 diamond off the end rail shooting at the crease between 2nd and 3rd ball at the back of the rack.

    Best shorty cue?

    If I had said cue, I would chuck it up in my lathe and work on the taper to soften up the shaft. Where "work" on the taper would include: a) using dial calipers or micrometers to measure the current taper b) making the taper smaller near the tip c) extending back 10-12" d) blending the rest of...

    Player Break Rules

    You might want to consider us old guys (especially us with urology issues) where the urge to pee comes one very fast and if we can't go pretty soon, we end up peeing on the carpet where we stand because it is physically impossible to hold it any longer.

    Cue Tip Compression

    While I have noticed this, it is only when the glue line is close to the edge of the tip that it really matters. So, when I do tip-maintenance, I just make sure the glue line is not close to the edge. {{A dime radius helps here over a nickel radius}}
