    The 10 Pool Commandments

Moses couldn't have done better... I am afraid I would have to change number 6 to simply "Thou shalt not jump". If the pool gods had meant the balls to leave the surface of the table, they would have given them wings (or made them out of rubber or something). I'm a kicker...and proud of it...

    Open bridge

Open for Business... I only use a closed bridge when breaking. And that's only because I tend to get a little wild. I have always felt more comfortable with an open bridge.

Temple TX, BCAPL State Tournament April 1st - 6th 2014

Math Problem... I hate to add $10 to player's expenses, but in the Men's and Women's open/advanced division it says $65 entry + $35 green fee. That adds up to $100, not the $90 it shows.

    Annoying Chalkers... Comments?

Admitting one's sin is the first step towards salvation... 1. I am a driller. I try not to be, but it is something that's become ingrained in my routine between shots. I can't seem to think without chalking my cue incessantly. 2. Upside down chalk: Used to annoy me quite a bit. Now I just...

    Pool's next big thing!

Thinking outside the idiot box dept... I think you mean, "Real Homeless Wives of Pool Players", don't you?

Just my opinion on the commentary.

Gourmet Gruel Dept... Being the best player on this USA team is a little like being the tallest dwarf; a distinction certainly, but a dubious one.

What was the moment that got you involved in pool?

To be a decent player... I don't remember how I first started playing pool, but I remember the exact moment I decided to become serious about it. I was playing in a doubles tournament on bar boxes in a little dive called "The Texas Trap". This was a small neighborhood hangout on Peavy road in...

Employee at Twitter with an idea of moving pool to a social platform

Here is mine: (Mark) Str8PoolMan---@BishopofBlunder I don't tweet much about pool (I don't tweet much anyway). But I am going to start following all the players and everyone from AZB that posts their account here.

Places to play in Dallas near the rangers stadium

Ok, I'll be the a$$hat to say it... Dallas isn't anywhere near the Rangers' stadium. :p

2012 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

    14 run in practice... On 02/08/2012, I had a short practice session with a high run of 14. This was my first session of the year. After I ran the 14, I started tracking my runs. I didn't count any inning where I played a safety. Here are my innings: 14, 5, 12, 9, 4, 3, 6, 1, 2, 10, 0, 2...

Pool and Chess -- strange bedfellows or natural companions?

Hey Wolven... I laughed out loud at your comment about Schiller's bad books. His lack of attention to detail and poor analysis is legendary. Do you ever hang out at http://www.chessgames.com ? It's a great chess forum. And Eric Schiller has his own page there. But don't hold that against...

    ABP vs. Berry -- Oh?

Welcome to the Forum, Max... As for your analogy, here's the problem: Yes, if your group stood up to a promoter and stated you wouldn't play without guarantee of payment, then he would probably laugh and go find another group. However, if all the groups banded together (so to speak), and...

    2011 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

21 Ball Run... I got a rare chance to hit some balls at a friend's place on Sunday and managed a 21 ball run. This almost doubles my previous high this year of 12 (yay me). My goal this year is to at least double that run of 12, so hopefully I can do that with a little more playing time. I...

Thank You Everyone For Making Ultimate 10 Ball Another Great Experience

Confessions of a Virgin... This was my first attendance at a professional billiards tournament, so I don't know if it was better or worse than any other. But I can say that I enjoyed myself tremendously. It was a thrill to see all the great players I have admired over the years. I was as...

    Pool Tournament Sachse,TX Hooleys

Whatzis??? Why the hell would anyone try to drag people out to Sachse, of all places, to hustle them? The few people who know where it is probably wouldn't go there. Just kidding, really. I've heard Hooley's is a nice place. Too bad it's in Sachse.

    2011 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

Thanks, but... Unfortunately, I'm not really a beginner. Though I haven't played a lot of 14.1 over the years. And I have been away from the game of pool for many years. My personal best is 47 or 48 (it's been so long I can't remember exactly). Just need more time at the table to get the...

    2011 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

A (not so) big 12... On my first foray into the world of 14.1 for 2011, I managed to match my high of last year, 12. My goal is to at least double that this year. I'm going to need a lot more practice.
