IN SEARCH OF: MEDALIST APRONS (older)

Medalist Aprons I am actually going to be building a set of aprons for a 9ft Bruns shortly. Are you looking for something special or would a custom set be of greater interest? Rob 215-622-8899

    cutting table slate

I think I can be of help for cutting the pockets I haven't done what you are working on now, but you should be fine. I use a 1/8" diamond bit in a small hand router when I pin cracked slates. The benefit to this is that if you can setup a backstop outside the radius of the final cut in the...

    brunswick superspeed monarch cushion

Monarch cushions Hi Gerald, From your description it sounds like your cushions are on borrowed time. I have played on these cushions before, they in many cases lasted much longer than current cushions. Maybe RKC has some insight into why that is? I have been using current Superspeeds in the...

Awesome Find! 6 leg Brunswick Arcade 5x10

Arcade Still, what a deal. Besides this isn't a flip unless you have a customer prior. Something great about these tables is they will last forever, not like the new stuff. I don't know if I could part with an Arcade if I got one. I found a 6leg Madison last year for pennies but it needs a full...

    Switching joint filler question

Cleaning up wax A great use for Lacquer thinner! It will get all the wax out without the torch and do a much better job. We learned that out in Chicago this summer, I was dumbfounded by how well it worked! Rob ps. what area of the country are you out of?

    Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

picture is worth a thousand words So how many fingers am I holding up? Have you ever seen a 2pc slate or greater than 5? I saw a crappy table once with a 2pc slate that couldn't have been a half inch thick, I walked away from that. It was a cheapo from the 70's.

    Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

how many fingers am I holding up? (thumb counts here) Nope, it was a 5pc. That is two ends with corner pockets, two with no pocket cuts and a center slate with the sides. Look at the plaster dust on the frame. This table is 10-15 years old, I believe it was made in South Africa where the guy...

    Most Accurate Subrail Angle

cutting subrail angle everytime? Hi Donny, I missed your first question there, no I don't cut it generally unless it needs it. I trimmed a few from nice condition rails recently just to see how the factory cut was even though the angle was accurate (within 30 seconds), what I found was that...

    Most Accurate Subrail Angle

yup, still more accurate The whole point is that the molding process is pretty accurate to start with for dimensional tolerance of the cross section. Then when the rail is machined for hardware and rails you have the tolerance of the molding plus the tolerance of the machining processes add...

    Most Accurate Subrail Angle

Here is the latest tooling in my full-service shop. I will post more pictures if you like, but this will get you the idea. The fixture is 6" high and 61" long made out of reinforced channel. I machined it to slide in the T-slot of the 10x54 Milling machine since it only has 32" of travel with...

Question regarding replacing rubber on table

re: cushion replacement time Depending on how you do the cushions, you can technically do them in less than 2 hours if you do a lot of cushions. I take longer because I won't use a table saw when working in my shop nor a door planer. The picture below is from yesterday where I rerailed 2 sets...

    10ft. Carom vs. 9ft. Pocket

You Chop down a 10 ft? Why in the world would you hack a 10ft table? These things can't be replaced. Besides, unless you do a full veneer job it is going to be hideous. What a sacrilegious idea.
