I need 18 tables moved and recovered in florida

Billiard Fitter Just want to throw in a comment quick. I recently played down at Strokers for US Amatuer event. Room being done by Billiard Fitter.. The cloth was on tight and tables seemed to play alright. Pocket work was disgusting, with a weird pull on every side pocket in the room. Most...

    Grinding imperfections

Not to be a naysayer, however a 0.001 variance over 80" is beyond the tolerances I used to hold making carbon bearings for jet engines! I would say any variance under .005 over a given linear ft of slate is excellant. Blocking lightly will always show machining marks, it cannot however take down...

    AMF Grand Prix 4.5x9

AMF Gran Prix Very cool retro table indeed! I have seen over a dozen of these in the last few years. I have an 8ft currently. The coolest thing on the table is the frame and leg design. It is a pain the in the ass to work on, but very unique and solid build. Also, you can easily change the...

    Grinding imperfections

Honing method tips Use a good fine filter, or the dust will shoot out the other side! I smoked out a pool hall by using a poor vac once, woops. As far as taking off too much material by grinding or honing...You have a good 1/8" of clearance in the rails so that shouldn't be an issue. The worse...

Need a table moved/set up, Newport News, VA

Valley move; Newport News You've probably already located someone for the move. If not, I may be able to help (well sort of). I will be down at the US Open in Chesapeake this friday night and saturday. I will not be in my work van so transportation will need to be worked out by you. Not the...

    Grinding imperfections

Figure 8 You are correct, the motion reduces digging a low deeper. And helps even the passes over all areas. Ideally we would use a block 48" square but that is not practical. Most high/lows are on 12-18" centers crest to crest from what I have seen. Even a 24x18 block will have trouble there...

    New Slate Dolly

Hey John, Too busy to prototype! Also, I am still buying tooling for my little CNC.. You ever see how much collets and tool holders are! Might have 10k in tooling soon, it's nuts. Almost to the point where I'll hire a shop guy so I can be in the field while he builds my inventions in shop...

    New Slate Dolly

Slate dolly, first use Hey John, First off, I am am asshole for not buying this long ago. Great tool! It's nice to see ideas go through the process and come out as a quality well made and proven tool. Can't wait till the powered attachments come out. You know that I could easily build this...

    Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

I second that, I've never seen an ego post from Mark. If anything he seems like a reluctant leader.. Which in this case is probably a very good thing.

    Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

You would never do what? You must be off the wagon again, do you actually think anyone you deal with professionally doesn't know you are full of it? Your legacy in this business is being habitually late, unable to maintain a two way conversation and being combatitive with anyone who doesn't do...

    Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

Hi Mark, I really don't care how many or how Glenn handles his business. I do care that he pits mechanic against mechanic and takes credit for innovations we all make, while telling us each how bad an idea it is. From all I hear about your work I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you...

    Brunswick Centennial 10-foot Snooker Slates

Really? A year to deliver a table.. And you bash me? So your saying that you have been a year late for more than the two NY jobs? Wow, Glen.. I hope you let them know that the table they bought and paid for might take a year or greater to get there.. Really? A year? What are you doing...

Bumpy bumpity bump Wow, it's been a while fellow Az'ers. Hope you all have been well. As usual, working and maintaining my deadlines has kept me busy. Ya know, not all hacker mechanics can get away with being a year late. Just saying.. Table-Tek out!

    gouges in slate?

For the love of god, don't use a belt sander on slate! Bondo will suffice, better is a two part epoxy called pc-7 available at home depot. Has very similar characteristics to slate and is much better for slate repair IMHO. If you are very careful you can grind down the bulk , but to get a flat...
