    Understanding the TAP handicap system

. Heck, I thought this thread was about TAP and not about the other league. A couple things people should know, just worry about your own handicap and remember that it is a team event and it's not all about you. Be a team player and play for the team. Know the rules and play to...

    * lifetime cue *

. I have well over one hundred cues and the cue I play with is a J&J sneaky pete butt and a shaft I made myself. .

    Trouble drawing the ball?

. On a draw shot just move your bridge hand back a few more inches. Start out with baby steps. Cueball just a foot away then go a little farther once you bet the hang of it. Try a Meucci....oh yeah----your bridge hand is too high. You need to make a low bridge. .

    Understanding the TAP handicap system

. Yes I understand it perfectly. If you are looking for answers, your league operator will tell you "the system works." I am sworn under oath of the National Tap League Secrecy Act to never explain how it works. If I ever told my secrets I would be barred from all Tap events and forced...

    McDermott Sledgehammer break cue

. Yeah the Patent Pending Sledgehammers made in Taiwan were okay just over priced. And here we all thought they were made in USA. .

Has a new cue actually helped you play better?

. Well just not any new cue. Has to be the right cue. Weight, balance, tip ferrule, and length of the shaft. With the right cue, it will work like a magic wand. If you never had the right cue, you will never know. Yes the pool cue makes a huge difference. .

Any pro plays with 13mm shaft?

. I'm always surprised when someone shoots like an APA handicap #4 can tell everyone about shaft deflection and how a smaller diameter shaft is good for them. Seems there should be a new thread started 'cause this thread sure did go off the subject. .

    US Open cue ??..............

. And which shaft will the winner be using. I guess if a carbon shaft wins, I guess I'll need to jump on the band wagon and start selling them. I never hear anything about "How great the Meucci Pro shaft is" anymore. Is it out dated already? .

Can a break stick become a player

. Most people think that is a playing cue which is fine. Made in 1994 and sold as Joss's first break cue. No need to change anything on it. Probably has a regular leather tip. .

Is the time right for a new usa pro tour?

. The conversation is about a pro tour in the USA. Try to keep up with all the big words on the subject. .

Is the time right for a new usa pro tour?

. Probably not going to happen in my lifetime. You'd have to bring down gas prices and motel rooms will have to be free. It's just not a good spectator sport and the game is too easy. I don't know where the money would come from. Most players are broke. .

Watching mr. 400 trying to break the record

. Wow....had to make popcorn twice today. .

    OB Cues coming around?

. Yes they are coming around. Now their factory 2nd shafts are now $119. .

Watching mr. 400 trying to break the record

. For me, this whole thing is like a carnival act. John should concentrate on breaking his own record run instead of someone else's. Running 400 isn't even close to running 500. John is good but he's no Mosconi. Kind of reminds me of trying to make five eight on the breaks in a...

    Old Viking cue

. Probably worth $120. No sugar coating here. .

What kind of prices can be expected at the SBE?

. I mean some things will be a great deal but don't expect too much. Vendors have a big expense to make up. Cost of the booth, renting a room for four days, traveling expenses, and eating out every day. Cost them a fortune! .

    John Schmidt at BullShooters

    . Sounds about right. .

    OB: a stand up company!

. I don't even know what to say. I didn't know they were still in business. Check back in a couple months and let us know how it's going. .

    How to count points?

. I never count the veneers as points. Four point cue is a four point cue. Some of the older folks will call them prongs. .

    Why no pool

. Used to be sad when ESPN had Mitch Lawrence commentating when he knew nothing about pool. Pool is not a good game to watch. It's boring to watch players shoot balls into holes. Just not a challenge. Most players are boring. Not much personality. .
