    New to AZ Billiards

I've found that this place is best experienced with a dual monitor set-up. That way work does not get in the way of the "fix."

What is the best low deflection shaft on the market...

All of this is good information but what I really need to know is... Which is the best LD shaft for when playing in November with high humidity a measles ball, slow cloth and inconsistent pocket sizes? (sorry this post just reminded me of some of the posts I used to read about ball bats.) :D

Instead of having a league every week, why not just have a tournament?

I'm one of those "league players". I've never enjoyed gambling in any fashion (My wife on the other hand, could go through a pay check on a slot machine hoping for that one "big score"). As I've stated in the past, when I started playing a few years ago, it was as a favor to a friend who...

    Bowling vs. Billiards

Okay, I admit that I didn't read all of the responses to this thread before I started typing. This is a subject that I have some authority on and couldn't wait to share my knowledge, or lack of knowledge... My 17 year old son is a bowler and has been since he was 5. Because of this, I have...

    Milestone for me, Whoo-ah.

I thought about the fact that if you don't make the 9 you don't break in 9-ball. I guess I should have said that I've been playing the ghost in a modified APA race. Good point about the money ball as well. I didn't think I was trying to sugar coat anything but maybe I was. I take my beatings...

    Milestone for me, Whoo-ah.

score in ball count. correct, I'm terrible but i'm okay with that. Every once in a while I do something other than drills to measure my progress and this is one of those things. A year ago I couldn't come close to winning a single match. Posting the results on here is a way to keep myself...

Make az strickly memberships @ $100 a yr.

phpBB code allows the creation of "hidden" forums. (For all I know, this place already has them) If the "in crowd" wants to filter out those of us that aren't part of the click then go that route.

    Milestone for me, Whoo-ah.

I'm taking ball in hand after the break. Any balls left on the table after a miss goes into the ghosts score. I do take 9 on the snap instead of re-spotting, at least for now.

Looks as my learning curve just got derailed

Good news is that someday, after you've forgotten all about this, you'll stick your hand in a pocket and pull out a nice surprise.

Banking off the end rail into the side

I do that all of the time. Except I'm always making the cue ball that way.

    Milestone for me, Whoo-ah.

Just for something different, over the past 3 weeks I've been playing the nine ball ghost in an APA race to 75 (or until my wife goes to bed, whichever comes first) every evening. Last evening I finally beat that ghost 75-71. I'm sure this is childs play to most of the folks on here, but damn...

    Last nite

I used to bowl with my son until he got so good that I couldn't beat him. That was the day I gave him all of my gear. I'm not willing to give him my cues, so he's just gonna have to watch from the rail.
