Neighbors or Woodworth for first custom?

Avoid Woodworth. Pretty cues with great designs, but hit is inconsistent from cue to cue. The one that hit well hit very, very well. But the ones that don't hit well, well, don't hit well.

What was your first experience like playing a pro?

I was running a search for a post I made a long time ago and I came across this post I made (not the one I was looking for, but I'm glad to have found it). I guess I should call myself fortunate for having had the chance to play him. I wish I would have taken the time to take lessons from him...

    Gambling Ettiquette

    1. When I gambled, rarely did anyone go home broke. With the advent of credit card machines in bars and atms in bars or right around the corner, rarely did anyone not have access to cash. 2. When I gambled, 98 percent of the time the winner paid for the table time. The only time the winner...

The inevitable result of "excessive skill" in a handicapped league

I have not played in an APA sanctioned league for years because I didn't like it. I quickly realized it wasn't for me when I played my first match. I came into the league as a four and my first match was against a four. Therefore, it was a 3 to 3 match. I got to break first. I broke and ran...

Things people don't like about Pool Halls

I was in action ninety percent of the time I played in one particular pool hall. It might have been cheap action but it was still action. Many times me and my opponent were the only players in place playing on 1 of 9 tables. Then, a set of double date couples come in to play games. GUESS...

Most balls pocketed on nine ball break

Great post...making that many balls on a wet table is amazing...another example of the complexities and variables that can occur when breaking. I hate to sound cliche-ish...but breaking sometimes is like a box of chocolates (you know the rest of the quote)!!!

Most balls pocketed on nine ball break

I can honestly say I missed that recent post. Interesting, that poster and I were both thinking the same thing at roughly the same time...Great to know we both are getting responses from different AZers...

Most balls pocketed on nine ball break

Just curious as to how many balls people have HONESTLY pocketed on a nine ball break and what were the circumstances. I pocketed six on the break on an eight foot table years ago. Granted, it had loose pockets, but I was still pretty happy. Ironic thing though...although I had just made the...

Video of my 11-yr. old son breaking on YouTube

Awesome fundamentals. Wish I had "learned" how to play the right way. Tell him to keep up the good work. He can become a champion one day.

    He is the Greatest Cueist!!

He busted Efren and took his teeth as collateral. Efren never went back for a rematch.

What was your first experience like playing a pro?

My first match against a pro was against Wade Crane. I was definately star struck. I jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but ended up losing the set 9-6. His safety play destroyed me. I had never been hooked like that before and it certainly rattled me. Fortunately, I learned from the experience...

Jeanette in The Buff for ESPN

Just my opinion, but it looks like she has a tummy tuck scar. If that is in fact a tummy tuck scar, then the photo is either not altered or the photo was badly altered.
