I'm using a Bulletproof Recoil hard (green) tip, best tip I have ever used, I wasn't a hard tip guy, after trying the TAOM FUSION tip I grew to like a hard tip, all hard tips are unforgiving, hit it right and your good, hit it wrong and it'll let you know 😉

I don't know what radius you have on your tip but I was using a dime radius for a long time,I was miscuing and couldn't go very low on the cueball, thought the Bulletproof Recoil tip was the problem, followed Dr Dave's advice and reshaped it to a nickel radius and it was like night and day...

The short extension is 2.75", I put that one on my cue when I bought the extensions,(bought separately) I had never owned a cue with extensions, hit with it on my cue for about 20 minutes, it has only come off for "wall shots", I leave that one on all the time, I even ordered my cue case 2"...

I don't think it makes it harder I think it makes it more likely for you to play defense than take the shot, I have heard it said today's players are like robots, they have to be, why take a challenging shot when you can play a lock up safety with such tight pockets, if the pockets were 4 1/4"...

There are so many tip sizes, Cuetec has a shaft that is 10.5 mm, I have shafts that are 12.5mm,12.0 mm and 11.8mm, and there are plenty more sizes, then you have different tip radius as well, thats why they just make them bigger so it covers all of them.
