    Solid vs layered tips

In my experience with layered tips is as they age the glue that holds the layers starts to cause glazing, I find that all leather tips get harder over time as well, I've been using Bulletproof Recoil tips since March of last year, it's a synthetic tip so the consistency from tip to tip is...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I feel the same way, every cue I have ever owned was like that except BeCue, I have 2 Prime II 12.0 shafts and they play exactly alike, I have the same tips on them so just to test them out I shot one shaft for about 10 minutes and then the other one, I didn't have to make any adjustments, if...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

There are 2 kinds of truth in the world, object truth and subject truth, objective truth is 1+1=2, it cannot be debated, it is truth that can be clearly demonstrated, subject truth is (insert custom cue maker here) builds the best cue, that is an opinion, it may be a well built, straight as an...

Who builds the Becue, full pool cues, and are they popular?

I have the Prime II 12.0, I have used the Engage 11.8 shaft, I have only used the clear, I love the way my cue hits with the clear, that is why I never tried the white.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I spent about double what you did on my cue but in the long run both will be relatively cheap, $1200 over 1 year would be $100 a month, over 10 years that is $12 a month, you will waste more than that at a convenience store buying stuff in the same amount of time but I'm willing to bet your cue...

    Cuelees cues, anyone tried them?

The skill and craftsmanship that goes into making a custom cue is astounding, when well done they are a work of art, a one of a kind cue most likely no one else will own, in the past production cues were not built with the care of a custom cue, modern tools have made it so that it is much easier...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I think a high end cue is more about how it plays than how it looks, I know mine won't have a lot of resale value but the playability value for me makes it a cue worth it's weight in gold.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Funny, so did I, can't even remember the last time I played with another cue let alone a house cue, the tip was slick as glass, no tip tools, used a key to rough it up, made me really appreciate my own cue.

Tales of last Saturday's night match

I learned this from a PBIA Billiards instructor, Neils Feijen has a YouTube video teaching the exact same thing as well, it feels uncomfortable, learning anything new feels uncomfortable, the more I work with this the more it makes sense, I would never in a million years would have thought to...

    Mezz Cues

The people who actually buy them don't think they are overpriced or they wouldn't buy them, the beauty of a free market, you get to decide if they are worth it to you with YOUR money, people who disagree get to decide with THEIR money, everybody wins !!!!

    Masters Chalk glazing over?

The impact of your tip on the cueball sprays chalk on the table, yes even TAOM, vacuum and as Bob Jewett taught me, use a damp cloth, don't argue with the man, just do it, the results will speak for themselves 😉

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I guess it depends on what you mean by quality of the materials chosen, a CF cue transfers power more efficiently than MOST but not all wood cues, however the wood cue is dependent on the quality of the wood, the same type of wood can transfer power very differently, CF manufacturered by...

Deflection question, explain how a stiffer CF shaft has less deflection.

The Becue Prime II 12.0 shaft is that shaft, it even gives a little feedback, plays the most like a wood shaft I have ever tried, to me it is the perfect blend of CF transfer of power and feel of a traditional wood shaft.
