Can't offer any advice here, but I'm really interested in your plan. Please let me know if you start a league.

Joey A to meet Walt Frazier

Walt's a standup guy. He'll undoubtedly get ahold of JoeyA off line and take care of biz. Let us know, Joey!

    Heading out of town

Yeah, I got me some plans with a lamb, two goats, and a wombat. Probably play some 9-ball, 8-ball, Snooker, and maybe, just maybe, a little Cowboy. Probably won't post again until next week, but if I do, don't hold it against me. If I don't, well, I warned ya! )))***!!!JUST GOT DIVORCED...

    Why do I play?

I love it. Almost everything about it is still exciting for me. I get pissed when I miss shots I know I should make and I get overjoyed when I make shots I shouldn't make. While I am enticed by the sounds, too, I especially love a long, slow roller on the snooker table finally falling off the...

    Ball Polisher for 15 balls

Joe, I was thinking that if you attached a 1"x to the bottom plate long enough to stick out a little on each side, you could clamp it to a table/workbench with c-clamps or spring clamps to add stability.

    My personal pool pet peeve

I've got a new pet peeve. I have a friend who comes over to play once or twice a week and has a pocket chalker that he clips onto his shirt pocket. Most of the time, everything is copasetic, but when he has to reach for a shot, the darn thing dangles down and settles on the cloth, leaving a...

If I opened a pool room

Don't forget the gamblers! Put an ATM type machine in one of the arms of each spectator's chair and next to the table where a bettor or player could deposit cash or use their debit/credit card to lay down the cash and get paid after each set/game, kind of like a slot machine. It would have to...

    am i wrong ?

Yeah, but what about the fact that he completely let him slide for all the grammatical errors?

    your opinions please...

To the guilty party: Scott doesn't deserve this kind of treatment and YOU know it! Be a man and pay him NOW! Don't make us come over there!

    Classiest Player

To me, Stefano Pelinga is the very definition of class for current pool players.

    Russian Billiards tables?

Darn, looks like that's a pyramit table, not pyramid. Must be a different type.

    Schmelke ? Anyone ??

I have a Schmelke cue that I've been playing almost exclusively with for the past 3+ years. It's a plain jane, but I love it, especially the no wrap part. Try it, you'll like it.

9-Ball And Earl Through British Eyes

Almost every shot is a jump shot. Try this, put a quarter on the table an inch or so in front of the cue ball and try to make the cue ball hit the quarter. Unless you hit it very, very softly, the cue ball will jump over the quarter every time, low, high, or center ball.

    Pool League territory issues

I'm kind of glad you posted this. First, I don't think there should be any restrictions on leagues competing with each other. They all seem to have their good points and their drawbacks. Secondly, I think the BCA needs to do more in our area (not sure about Portland, but Clark county) to...

Are 7,8 or 9 feet pool tables proportionate?

I would correct that to say almost all pool tables are twice as long as they are wide. I've seen round pool tables and tables with a couple of ninety degree bends in the middle. They are definitely not twice as long as wide. I have recently been spending more time playing pool on my 10'...

    Should Jeanette Lee Forfeit Matches

I think two posts by the same person about the same subject makes them appear to be a little "psycho".

Heinz, "The Taste That Never Misses"

Actually, he looks a little like the owner of Orange County Choppers, Paul Teutel (he'd have to put on another 50 lbs. of muscle). Jesse James owns West Coast Choppers and doesn't look anything like either of those guys. Don't know who that is in the video.

    (stupid?) idea for a product

Taking the idea a bit farther, how about if there was a pocket at the end of a seven or eight foot strip with a ball return? Make the strip just an 1/8" wider than a ball and if you hit the sides, a trap door in front of the hole pops up and rejects the ball. You could use a laser beam on each...

How would you learn to play with a different shaft?

To help speed things up, I would play something like the spot shot from both sides of the headstring using both left and right english and figure out how much you have to compensate with the higher deflection shaft. Another technique would be to play several games using nothing but right...
