I never did learn to surf or skate board. I tried. 🤷‍♂️ The water in Crescent City was just too damn cold. And state boards needed pavement. 🤷‍♂️ 😉 Hand and eye can be improved. Good coaching sure helps. Study as well. The current snooker finals is of great value if trying to get better ...

If you blink. Triggers my favorite true story. Wink. At 8, I was in training as our team had The best catcher in the league. He sprained his glove thumb and I was called to duty. The chest protector drug the ground and the umpire often grabbed the back strap to pull my small ass back. 🤷‍♂️...

Advantages or Disadvantages does it make a difference Stepping into the shot vs. stepping back from the shot?

My method has me holding the cue at the balance point and using the length of the cue to gage where I stand. Standing square to the shot with my belly button on the aiming line,. It's then a one two dance step with the rear foot back just a little and the front foot forward.

People who use chalk holders...what do you do when

There was a time that I would leave my chalk on the rail. My method was to place it on the rail as a landmark. Using it to mark where I wanted whitey to go. My excuse was, well that's where I will need it next. A pro player saw what I was doing and pointed out that it was marking the table...

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

Different games get a different speed. Playing eight ball or one pocket, I want the object ball close to the pocket if it's missed. Playing 9 ball or rotation, I want a missed ball to end up away from the pocket that it was intended for. There are occasions that, "hit 'em hard and wish them...

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

Well I still haven't read all the discuss I think in snooker they call it a stun run through. I hit or aim to hit dead center for the short follow. Through practice I have developed a feel for where and how hard to strike the white. Watching the interaction of the tip with the white gives data.

Why You Choke Easy Shots Under Pressure

"I can identify with that." Well those words were mine a long time ago, when Dan Louie confess to nervous miss against Earl the Pearl at hill/hill. It applies here as well. Back pain while playing

I was prescribed pain killers when launched from my motorcycle. I quit taking them the second day. I wanted to know what was going on, so when it hurt I could "stop doing that". My practice the next day had me standing upright and hitting the balls one handed. It was the therapy I needed at...

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

Back in the day when coke bottles were glass. A favorite drill was to lay the bottle on its side on the table and stroke through the mouth to touch the bottom without touching the sides of the mouth.

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

I love a good reflection in the cueball. If I was seeing this when down on the shot....perhaps sticking it in his ear. Seriously I find a feature in the reflection and target it and the path through whitey with closer to center axis the percentage choice.
