This has got to be the sweetest thing I've seen in a long while. That is one happy kid on the video, I'm happy for the both of you guys! Kudos to Pechauer for coming up with the cue.
So nice to see his smile while carrying the cue with such pride, as he should be as not many juniors his age...
Very nice! Love the look of that and it is always fun to figure out how to fix an unforeseen screw up like that
Can you feel the rings at all below the clearcoat?
Very impressive finish on a stunning piece of wood
The raindrop rings are a nice touch, definitely the first time I have seen those. Looks awesome, nice work :)
60" SW, now that is something! You play with these beauties or have them just to collect?
I would love to try out a SW, let alone a 60" one. Very nice cues you have managed to track down, I am in awe for sure
I like them too and use them on my playing shafts. Hits great and seem to be rather simple to cherry pick the good ones from the box judging the exposed leather on the dome. Well worth the price without a doubt
Lomax BEM / Ziricote merry widow.
I decided to bite the bullet and go for a custom made cue to meet the specs I was looking for a cue nearly a year ago. I was looking at several builders and companies before finally settling down on mr. Steve Lomax as the man up for the task :o I contacted him...
Both brands mentioned make decent cues. I would personally favor Joss for their standard joint pin over the pechauers unique quick release.
I would also suggest taking a look at Mezz cues. Their EC7, MSP, ZZ and AXI series have a few affordable models that may appeal to a merry widow guy...
Of those two I would pick Jacoby any day. Feels better, the quality has been better on those shafts that have gone through me and in my opinion the jacoby just plays better
I would change the tip. Kamui blacks have proven to be quite irritating to maintain over longer periods of time and personally I don't care for them at all. I don't even stock them anymore as there are cheaper tips out there that outperform the blacks :(
This has been discussed before and from what I recall many Asian pros use Gino Ferrari jump cues. However I am pretty sure that it is not the cue that sets them apart on jump shots but the practice time an dedication to the use of the short stick
^ I have used loctite 401 with good results, so far no tip failures with it and I have been using Tomahawk ferrules on my predator shafts for a long while
Mezz cues are some of the best made cues out there, definitely worth a look in to. I would go with an EC7 serie cue or MSP serie if you like the sneaky pete style. Seyberts has a nice variety in stock
Zans are great, definitely a brand to be considered premium. The Premium soft is the best soft tip I have come across and their Medium is equally nice.
Let us know what you end up with and how you like it
