The secret to a high level of consistency

A very good post, Joe. You made me realize that I had not focused on staying absolutely still in my stance for quite a while. I hit a few balls on my home table tonight with this as my objective. I was long ago taught the "relaxed muscle" approach to keeping still that Neil advocates. When I...

Read this guys Dale Perry ebay description.

Something is not quite right here. . . Like several others who've already posted, I've purchased multiple eBay Dale Perrys. All arrived in fine shape with one the exception. That cue looked good but had a nasty buzz when used to hit a shot firmly. (This kind of problem will happen...

    Pool Campaign

Certainly no one will accuse you of not crying before you are hurt. There are likely some straw men on the loose in NPR; might want to take your arguments there.

What is a cue's "hit" to you?

The consensus answer seems to be. . . . . .the amount or quality of information transmitted to the user about the cue's impact with the cue ball. And really, I'd very much like to agree with that conclusion. I can't quite get there, however, as there is no reliable way of quantifying either...

    What's your fav. Poolhall ever?

Nice to see this legendary room recognized. I grew up just a few towns away from Hi Cue, but it was closed by the time I got active in the game. The room I really miss is the late, lamented Chelsea Billiards in NYC. Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ was another fine room that is no longer around.

The long-standing Figueroa/Spiderweb/Champ/Patrick aiming feud has got to stop!!!

This could start a new aiming discussion. . . How do you aim when you bowl??? Do you look at the spots, or look at the pins??? Anyone who aims without using the spots is, IMHO, an idiot.

Why Do You Miss the Simple Shots?

This really strikes a chord with me, Lou. One thing I've noticed in my own (admittedly low-level) game is that I always get perfect shape on the next ball when I miss something really easy. I've obviously taken the shot for granted, and focused only on cueball position.
