Colors are right. Numbers are ugly and they look cheap. JMHO. https://www.ozonebilliards.com/product/dynaspheres-pool-balls-bronze As compared to these: https://www.ozonebilliards.com/product/premium-belgian-aramith-pool-balls JMHO

Best value billiard balls (Aramith Regulation Size Crown Standard)?

Don't like the look of the black either. Call me a traditionalist if you like. I actually like the colors of "classic balls." Pretty sure the pool ball makers are just creating a market and they obviously have been successful judging by this thread. After all how many times in your lifetime do...

Best value billiard balls (Aramith Regulation Size Crown Standard)?

Call me out of date but not a fan of the look of the Dynaspheres. Just not pleasing to my eye. I'll play on a table with any set if I must but if I have a choice the Dynasphere look is a no for me and given how long a set of pool balls can last, over time, even the most expensive set is a bargain.

American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship (Oct 24-29), Norfolk, Winner $10K

Excellent post and well explained. The world's top players today are surgeons on the table. They practice, practice, practice. They have to. The competition is that tough nowadays. The old timers, if they were coming up today would adjust to the new conditions and still be world beaters. The...

Buy the Aramith set that looks most pleasing to your eye. Even if you go top of the line at around $400, think about how long that they will last you. Almost forever. Any set you buy will be a bargain over time.

    US Open Racking....Thumbs Up Matchroom!

Standard practice when playing on drop pockets. Most of the time when playing on drop pockets each player removes balls from three pockets. I have seen matches in this tournament when the players let the ref retreive all of the balls.

How do you compare two cues?

I have never sold a cue that I have bought. However I recently purchased a Revo 11. 5/16x 14 that I played with for about 20 hours total and have gone back to my wood shafts. It wasn't for me. If anyone is interested in it I am looking to sell it. Looking for $400. Original purchase $500...

    Stay With One Game ?

Define "very well." Does a person that can run 25 at any time in straight pool play well? I think so. Is 50 the yard stick or is it 100 or is it 30. I guess a player that has not run 50 in straight pool does not play the game well. The player that I am speaking about is around a 630 Fargo, which...

    Stay With One Game ?

If you are a 50 ball straight pool player you play well and probably can play all of the games well. If you are a 50 ball straight pool player you "see the table" and yes, that translates to all of the games, which I have been saying all along that each game helps all of the other games. If a...

    Stay With One Game ?

The optimal margins of position are small in all games. That is why playing all of the games make you better in others. By the way, generally speaking, how many one pocket specialists or 14.1 specialists that you know of play rotation? I find the people that play one game are not comfortable...

    Stay With One Game ?

He plays 14.1 very well. The difference is that after you pocket the ball in rotation there is only one ball on the table that you must shoot at next and when you do it is a good idea to have the proper angle on that particular ball to get right on the next ball that you HAVE to shoot at. In...

    Stay With One Game ?

I like them all. Whatever my opponent wants to play is fine by me. Lately in my room everybody wants to play one pocket so I am playing a lot of one pocket. One fellow I play often, who is an excellent one pocket player only wants to to play 14.1 lately. So I play a lot of 14.1 with him. We play...

    Stay With One Game ?

I don't know what it does for viewing but I believe, personally, that playing all of the games improves you at all of the other games. I know many players that say playing a lot of one pocket messes up their nine ball game. I think it is the opposite. That is just one of the amazing things about...
