Can you elaborate this point? I didn't think you can carry any part of a cue (butt or shaft) onto a plane.

Did some research and decided on the Mezz Smart Chalk Set. Small and foldable clip that won't tear up your pants. Strong magnet. Comes with a cube of good quality chalk that has the magnet "built-in" the cube. Also has a handy rubber cover so the chalk doesn't mess up the inside of your case...

When that was discussed by Alex and JJ in the commentary, JJ also speculated that the z-shaft "wears" over time because it's wood. Thus, the other potential reason for the switch, although the sponsor pressure to play their CF shaft is more likely. Not sure what JJ meant by that "wear" comment.

More cost allocated to CF as people need more convincing. ;)

I think that part of the higher cost and margin of the CF shaft goes partly to the marketing cost to the masses, and that includes pro endorsement costs. Classic aspects of macro-economy going on at Predator and CueTec - a symbiotic relationship/dance between them and their pros on display at...

Dollar-for dollar, larger profit margins on CF shaft than on a wood shaft, even more so with the higher prices commanded by a CF shaft. I expect CF shafts are easier/cheaper to manufacture these days, including less rejects due to more consistent quality control over a larger production volume...

The Hustler was a great film, especially for the impact of the four main actors: Paul Newman, Piper Laurie, Jackie Gleason, and George C. Scott. Amazing performances and key moments in each of their careers...and for this movie to be made against the backdrop of pool...so great.

It's unfortunate that due to having limited referees and "linesman" in pro pool tournaments, they can't institute a shot clock for every match. Not just for final 32,16, etc.

Can someone point to a thread on proper use of these tools for cue tip care? I've looked around, but found a very mixed bag of demos, and nothing really detailed, step-by-step. Whichever is the best method/tool would help narrow it down. Many thanks!
