Los Angeles area players from the past

Popcorn I remember. I was introduced to him by one of my so called friends. Two things I remember about him. One was that he stood almost upright in his shooting stance. The other thing I remember is that he and probably one of HIS friends hustled me out of a few hundred dollars . The guise...

    Best Way to Clean Simonis?

If you can mange to do all that and still have a problem with dirty hands, you should try to wipe off the wood part of the rails once in a while because the sweat and dirt from your hands due tend to make them dirty. Oh and I have just recently gotten into these habits and find myself doing the...

    Need Fluorescent/LED Light Help

Have you considered LED flat panel lights? I don't know the dimensions on your Diamond light but if you can fit either 2x2 or 4x2 panels you can just take the guts out of your light and mount those inside instead. I have 2 LED flat panels installed above my table but have a custom box.

It is not necessarily how tight your pockets are (width at the mouth) but what their taper is and how long the shelf is that will determine how sloppy or forgiving the pockets are. All in another post on this thread. You can order or make the pockets on a Diamond pro am in a lot of different...

I didn't say " perfect little round circles". But it definitely looks like a skid (burn) mark. Kinda oblong. With a tail so to speak. And I won't go along with it being the cue ball. I don't care how scientific you are. Show me a slow motion video of the impact I'm talking about before I believe...

The reason I know so much is I've been around pool rooms all my life. Now when you get to be my age, you can see the ignorance much more clearly in others because the evidence is coming right out of their mouth.

The only thing I do know is there is always a smart a** in every bunch. I told you what I know and I gave ideas on what might be the problem. Try doing that instead of bad mouthing other people. It's sad to me that some people can't see or understand the difference.

I'd just like to add one more thing to this thread and then I'll let somebody else figure out this problem that I don't have with my balls or table or cloth or ball to ball contact or pockets . My other theory would be worn out cloth. Or very dirty chalk inbeded cloth. When you make contact...

'that's a bold statement coming from a one-eyed fat man' from 'True Grit' I do take offense to insults. Since I have not directly addressed you before, what makes you think I am 12 and still learning? I do have an open mind and open to any new knowledge. So I'll give you credit for half of...

Have you tried using more polish or leaving them in the polisher a little longer? Those do look like impact marks to me. If you can't get them off with the polisher, then I suspect the polisher or the polisher pads need changing. Unless you have a GC with pocket issues too.

What kind of chalk are you using? I've also heard that some Diamonds do make a black mark on some balls. Comes form the impact on the leather pocket liner. I haven't experienced this, however. Chalk marks on the cue ball will transfer to the object ball upon impact.

Maybe the newer ones do, I don't know. But I do know the older ones have the nails I described. Did you know the newer GC's are made in Japan now? Did you know that the newer GC pockets are a more flush design than the older ones? Things change, design changes over time. He did say he had a...

Just for grins, and I had not heard of such a brand table before, so I looked at some online and noticed that they had a similar pocket design as Brunswick. It's not at all uncommon for some manufacturers of tables to use similar design from other manufacturers. You mentioned you also get the...

Do you happen to know just how hard an Aramith ball is? Check online sometime. You can find a site that puts the ball under extreme pressure until it explodes. Many hundreds of pounds I assure you. Yes you can scratch the surface with metal contact but you must not have read the part about the...
