    Finish chipping

I don't think oil is the way to go... and once it hardens, yes, it would be difficult for a finish to adhere to it without removing wood (since the oil absorbs into the wood). It takes a bit of time to build up enough of an oil finish to get it to a point where it could be shined to a high...

    Shaw's Aiming

I was born lefty but my parents made me a righty.... I'm pretty severely left-eye dominant, so it did pose challenges at first, with a lot of things. But you learn to adopt. If someone keeps missing a particular shot fat, they have to learn to hit it thin - REGARDLESS of what anyone thinks.

    Schmelke Sneaky Pete W/BEM

The cocobolo will darken a little over time... Still a great looking sneaky Pete ata great price. Reminds me of 20 years ago, when I could have bought a bunch of new Tim Scruggs sneakies for $145 each!

New Stick + Tip and Hitting Various Levels of Spin

At that distance you can get follow naturally because the CB is rolling as it hits the OB... As to draw... you can practice hitting soft ones with an open bridge and the OB about a diamond away, and work up from there. Juat get it to come back the same distance it left, it don't take much...

    Low deflection haters

I think more people would get more joy out of this game, while helping the pool industry, by pairing someone with a cue that would actually work for their game, instead of the current business model of introducing a whiz-bang new technology every 6 months or a fancy new fall model that people...

    Shaw's Aiming

I agree, but the right place one day is not the in the same place the next. So, who teaches THAT? I used to play a lot with another kid in college, and he'd swear he was stroking straight, when in fact he swerved the cue slightly to the side he has applying English to. Nobody taught him that...

    Schmelke Sneaky Pete W/BEM

I don't see anywhere on the site that they have specific grades of BEM - light figure, high figure - so I'd assume that would have to be requested? It does look like a nice cue and there's some nice, yet not overt, figuring. Don't know if that's worth the upgrade however?

How do I wire this safety switch to my lathe?

I believe it's just the black on top of black, white on top of white. Green together, don't know if there's a ground lug somewhere on your tool's frame. BTW you guessed right about the green!

    Broken Revo

Even with CF mountain bikes, what appears to be a small scratch could be the beginning of a catastrophic failure. Aluminum frames even suffer from metal fatigue and can be subject to joint failure as well. Golf's long drivers routinely break shafts... I saw one fail as the shaft hit the guy's...

    Low deflection haters

It's difficult because there are so many variables, between shaft, and tip, and ferrule material, and joint type, that the things used now to measure cannot quantify anything with accuracy. I think borrowing a page from golf club makers would be very beneficial. Items would include: General...

    Why Draw?

Well, when you're up a few games on your buddy, there's nothing like leaving yourself straight-in for the 9 in the corner, and drawing the CB back 3 rails for the next break...

    Broken Revo

Totally agree. But calling this thing a PVC tube filled with foam, or a stock CF tube filled with window sealant, is just a misrepresentation of what the Revo is. I don't have one, wouldn't buy one unless I had disposable income, don't even own anything made by Predator. I'd like to try one...

    Broken Revo

That would seem true, but it happens even when the cutting length is pretty minimal. I've used as small as .010" and the cutting length is only about .010" or so, and only going .002" per pass, with air assist. This doesn't happen with ebony, but almost always with rosewoods., where the oil...

    Why Draw?

You can influence the spot ball on the break with some control, and on some frozen shots where the OB is supported, to move the OB away from the predicted travel line (as in Byrne's book)

    Routing question

Well, with the diameter of the slot cutters, to have more than 1 edge engagement would require a large amount of stock to remove, or maybe at least 8-10 cutting edges, both which I don't think is the case here. Onsrud makes a 3-flute lo-angle spiral bit for woods 60-241 for 1/4", and 60-249 for...
