    Three piece cue

My main job involves quite a bit of travel and sometimes it is not practical to take my cue case with me on a plane. I was thinking of making myself a 3 piece cue, so I could just put it in my main suitcase. The joint only has to move forward about 2 inches to fix the problem. I guess the...

Unfortunately they only carry the small tubes for surfboard repair. I even offered to become a distributor here but Solarez did not seem very interested. Rob.

    Pin removal with induction heater

I have a cue that came to me today which has a stuck uniloc qr joint, and the owner cut the pin with a hacksaw and sent it to me. Usually I just heat up the pin to change thread, but this is a bit more difficult. I tried drilling then screwed in a screw extractor and heated it up and tried...

    Metal lathe for tips/Ferrule?

My tailstock has set screws front and back so you can adjust the offset. Put a magnetic base onto your chuck then indicate on the center as you turn the chuck by hand. 15 minutes and you should be able to get it perfect. Word of warning, make small adjustments so you only have to adjust in one...

    Metal lathe for tips/Ferrule?

I don't think you can go wrong with one of these. I even converted an Optimum to CNC and it was great, I only sold it to make a larger one! Here are some pics and videos: http://www.cncprojects.net/minilathe/videos-pics Rob.

    Atlas

I am in Australia and have used Atlas in the past with good results. I just tried a small order of a dozen pins, and shipping was $127! In the past I contacted Eric Hirsh and he sorted it out. I have tried their online (non)customer service form twice and got no reply. Can anyone share an...

I would try cleaning the pin and if that didn't fix it, I would run the radial pin tap in to get rid of any accumulated gunk. Rob.

    Help gluing point veneers

I wanted to try to add some veneers to my points. I made a press arrangement and glued up the veneer stack using West system epoxy and this worked quite well. Next I cut the mitered edges. But, I am at a loss as to how to hold them in place so I can glue them together. Any guidance would be...
