    Tip shape

With a rounder tip you need less tip offset from centre cueball to get the same English compared to a less round tip. Hence with a very round tip, any unwanted tip offset can result in noticeable unwanted English making you either miss your shot, mess up your positioning or both. At the same...

    Changing Mezz WD700 Ferrule to?

I don't think my warranty is valid anymore. My distributor did not mention anything about warranty 7 years ago, neither did I keep the receipt of purchase. Assuming that warranty is not of concern, it's undeniable that a Mezz ferrule would work well. But being open and curious to change, I...

    Decelerating

Are you afraid that if you give the ball too much speed, the inside English won't grab the rail and the cue ball won't have enough "juice" to rebound off the short rail in the desired line?

    Replacing shaft with same make/model....

In my small university team, there are 3 guys using the WD700 and we all have the united joint and stock ferrule on. At one point in time I was using a Kamui black M and so was 1 of my teammates. The last guy was using a Searing Precision M. I have also tried other WD700s and WX700s from...

Let me tell you what I hate...Anyone else?

The guy that has an opinion about every shot you play, laughs at your mistakes, thinks he has the best understanding of the game and tries to impose his methods of play upon you.

    Changing Mezz WD700 Ferrule to?

Hi, I'm using an old WD700 shaft and I'm considering changing the ferrule. I'd like to explore ferrules other than Mezz ferrules. Any suggestions on what ferrule would be apt? FWIW I'll be using a milk dud from pooldawg8. Thanks!

What do you look at when getting into your stance.

Hi I’ve tried: 1. Focusing only on cue ball 2. Flicking back and forth between cue and object balls 3. Focusing only on object ball I find myself most consistent with Method 3. When lowering myself into my stance I stare at the object ball, using it as a visual indicator if I’m making any...

Sight Along Stick or Something Else?

Hi For me I mostly ignore which direction the cue is pointing towards. I focus on two things: (1) will the ball to ball overlap allow me to Hit the correct contact point (checked by feel) and (2) is my cue tip going to hit the cue ball with the correct English (checked when feathering). For...

Why do I aim like this and why does it work?

When I said that this aiming method works, I meant that suddenly my potting ability is more effortless (even under pressure), more consistent and more instinctive (more feel, less science & guesswork).

Why do I aim like this and why does it work?

I do this with all my shots regardless of what sidespin I put on it.

Why do I aim like this and why does it work?

Very interesting observation! If I understand you correctly, this photo will roughly depict a 1/2 ball contact from top-view! The circles are the circumferences of the two balls that are like circular planes parallel to the table. If the ball spins, the circular plane spins.

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

When you say user-friendly, do you mean that the cue allows you to apply side-spin in an intuitive manner such that the cueball still goes straight down the aiming line?

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

My coach is the same. He walks around demonstrating shots, just randomly grabbing our cues off our hands, doesn't matter if it's a house cue, Mezz, Predator or Adam cue, he makes all the shots with sidespin on demand without needing to look at what cue he's wielding. I don't know what he's on...

Why do I aim like this and why does it work?

What do you mean by shot recognition? Do you roughly mean something like: once I walk to behind the object ball towards the pocket, my brain recognises that this is Shot 939 in the catalogue of shots, and it will instruct me to stop a certain somewhere to match Shot 939's aiming line? Yeah...

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

The way I have been taught by my coach to apply sidespin is such that when I'm down on my shot, I still see the same ball to ball overlap — in that sense, no matter what sidespin I use, I am still sighting down the same line as if I am aiming centre ball — and the cue would be pivoted under my...

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

If they had shown this in my Physics class, I wouldn't have DROPPED THE SUBJECT just to get more free-time to play some Football

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

God yeah... imagine 0 deflection and you aren't making balls because of spin-induced throw. People would be coming up with throw-compensation systems.

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

The fact that adapting to a LD shaft can be more of a pain than adapting to a traditional shaft makes me think that perhaps... when purchasing a new cue, it doesn't matter what the cue makes the cueball do when applying sidespin, so long as it doesn't look absolutely unpredictable and...

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

Yup I completely agree with you, but I was concerned about the (purely) squirt/deflection part of the equation. Hmm so If I were to transition from our modern cues to a zero deflection cue I would have to change my technique to use parallel shift which means to say that as cues are increasingly...

IF you had a zero deflection cue, how would you play?

If I have a zero deflection cue would I be applying sidespin in a parallel shift manner?
