i would have to say that no not just anyone could be made into a world beater. even with all the love for the game and training and willingness to practice in the world if a person does not have a certain appitude for playing great pool to begin with they will never be able to rise to that...

it seemed to be more of a tournament announcement rather that a press release. there seemed to be plenty of contact info contained within the announcement. i really dont see why it matters that the the announcement wasnt "signed" to the OP- for all the reasons you stated concerning signed...

please dont assume that i didnt read every post in this thread. pool is boring to watch. there has been enough pool televised to that if it were exciting to watch, advertising dollars would be pouring in and the pro game would be in better shape. come on. there isnt even a real professional...

just the fact that pool is not televised (much) and draws no real advertising dollars is all the proof you need that the general public (and some poolplayers too) find watching pool boring. brian

nobody missed much (except for the eye candy aspect) as the match wasnt very good. andoni just isnt very good and was no competition for shuff who didnt seem to be playing very well himself. brian

it was quite a shocker. i wasnt watching that match but one nearby. i saw johnny on the hill with a sizeable lead. he missed position (although most would have been happy with it), missed his shot and was cue slamming pissed off. i thought relax u got this. the match i was watching finished up...
