    Cue Chalking Crutch

Agree completely. A properly shaped, medium, layered tip (I like Tiger M or G2M) NOT USED FOR BREAKING will not usually mushroom or need reshaping often. Gentle scuffing ONLY when the tip will not hold chalk. I have been able to get several YEARS out of a good and well cared for tip. Even...

Blue Book of Pool Cues Buy?

We have a REALLY good thread here on "Pool Ball Collecting" that I have learned a lot from and used to help in my hunt for interesting sets and games. Perhaps a "Custom Cue Collecting" thread is here somewhere, or needs to be started? I would certainly value a single place to learn and look at...

What Non Traditional / Alternative Games and Sets Do You Enjoy and Play?

I currently own several "Specialty" sets. 1> Crown Games Poker Set: Very fun and challenging game when friends are over. Black Jack is the favorite of about 10 cool games 2> Cue Mate Chess/Pool Set: Surprisingly Challenging but most of my friends are too lazy to learn it. Honestly this is...

    Cue Chalking Crutch

Both can contribute. An unchalked tip gets slick / burnished and slips off the ball for sure in my experience. Otherwise no one would use chalk at all.

    Cue Chalking Crutch

I do this as well. Short answer... it is my pre shot routine. Here is my take... My chalk is my brain. While I am holding it, and chalking, I am thinking about the shot. Once I have made up my mind, I put the chalk down and the shot is pure execution from there. No more aiming or thinking...

    Taom Chalk

Yes, my home table. I own a Clean Gleem cleaner so I cleaned the balls before I started because I wanted to be certain that ANY chalk mark on the cue or object balls was the result of the TAOM and not something left over. I did not clean the cloth, but I will vacuum it up this evening and keep...

    Taom Chalk

With draw and follow I haven't seen a great difference but I chalk well after each shot when I use my regular "Silver Cup" chalk. I'm a solid, but far from professional player, so I am probably not the best person to comment on that. Here are the POSITIVE things I have noticed... 1.) I chalk...

    Taom Chalk

I'm not complaining. This is the smoothest and best applying chalk I have used. Seems to play very well. Maybe better as some have said, but I'm not certain yet. I just don't see a drastic difference in chalk on the ball and table. Better? Yes, some, but not that I would make such great...

    Taom Chalk

Agreed. Mine came yesterday. Although what I got was Pyro / Blue rather than V10 Green. I see about the same amount of chalk on the Aramith Tournament cue ball as before. Maybe it's just a little better. DEFINITELY plenty of chalk on the Centennial Cue Ball I also tried. Before using the...

    Rasson vs Diamond Tables

My poor self would be honored to have an 8ft. from either company! Please feel free to do a home reno TV show at my house and "Max My Man Cave!"

    Pool Ball Collecting.

Thanks for the link. I am a far too lazy complainer for such temporal excursions that cut into my irrelevant commenting time. LOL... Actually I did look that up and somehow the table knows this is not one of the other balls without a magnet... " Optical Sensor Ball Return In 1999, pool table...

    Pool Ball Collecting.

The ad for these balls on the Manningcues.com site says they are a replacement for Super Aramith Pro so I suppose that is the construction and quality level, but it has this at the very end... " Designed to work in Smart tables but can be used with any ball sets 2 1/4" in diameter." To me, as...

    Pool Ball Collecting.

I have this same set and box! I wish I could have the graphic on that box for a poster on my wall! And honestly these are my wife's favorite set. She loves the marbled colors.

    50 and over tournaments

The reason we have 50 plus tournaments is so we don't have to listen to cRAP music and put up with kids whining when we whip em like a puppy... OFR! (Old Farts Rule) :)

    Pool Ball Collecting.

Agreed. I almost bought one but I will show my ignorance here. The description said they work with a "smart table" and while I have no idea what that is, it sounded like an altered ball so I passed. I wanted it based on style though.

Ive Never Heard Efren Reyes Give a Testimonial For a Pool Cue Before.

Spend some time on YouTube watching him through the years. He plays like no one else ever recorded. Maybe some better in the past, but no one is alive to confirm that. We only have what is written. With Efren, we can watch him all through his career and he seems like God just gave him a...
