I'd like to discuss cue acceleration

written 15(!) years ago: "There is an interview with him on youtube where he said before a tournament he was practicing for 8 hours a day and 1/2 of the time was dedicated to his break..." source: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/how-much-what-does-shane-van-boening-practice.110226/...

    solidifying vision fundamentals/the eyes

was playing the other day, and it occurred that I should consider my eyes more on the shot I know I start with my eyes on the cb, and end with my eyes on the ob beyond that I confess I don't really have a routine, I just kind of go with the flow wondering what you all think is a good way to...

advice for hitting this draw shot?

thanks, I'll try it. I've only ever done five at a time, and think it helped that the balls were so close together for me to get in a rhythm. that said, getting a little out of line in that situation has also been a killer :) mixing it up by taking balls out and changing the number of balls...

head/body position stuck on the rail

thanks for watching, and for the critique. I'll have to watch the video and focus looking at my feet. in my head, my stance doesn't change very much, but I'll look with that specifically in mind. I'm not sure I understand the "I'm getting away with it because I'm shooting easy shots" idea...

advice for hitting this draw shot?

thanks bob, this sounds like a fun, telling drill. I'll def give it a try. I've done this one a few times- I've had rounds where I got through it easily, and then not ^_^ precision clearly makes it easier to get through (like any pool rack, I guess..) there is one sort of-local person I'm...

head/body position stuck on the rail

huh? I literally just said I *wasn't* being sarcastic. I also said I felt the need to be defensive, because you were challenging me if I were being defensive in a stubborn, selfish way I wouldn't have admitted it I thought by reiterating/reexplaining myself, that would help you help me.. I feel...

    Tip-Tapper Tool Discussion

question about this..I've wondered if putting holes in a tip weakens the tip/creates places for a lot of chalk to live, and what that means for play ?

head/body position stuck on the rail

first, not sure your motivation but I appreciate you editing your post that said I was being sarcastic. for the record, I wasn't. I was honestly just trying to explain to your comment/question about my feet, that I'd already been looking at that, evidence of which can still be found above in...

head/body position stuck on the rail

thanks for the reply, I'll check this out I see footwork as being important in pool, and strive to be stable and comfortable and I think I've been improving in this respect- but I'm obviously not 100% settled do you have any general tips or recommend any writings on the subject of de feet?

head/body position stuck on the rail

I can't tell if you're serious, or not. I'm wearing a mask because it's a pandemic, and I'm in public. I'm wearing a hat because I'm cold. I said "I don't know" because I can't see my feet here. I pointed out my hypothesis as to why my body appears the way it does. I posted this thread...

head/body position stuck on the rail

good question. I don't know. if I had to guess, I would say my feet are maybe closer together than is typical for me and I'm wondering if I'm kind of scrunching my position/making my body more compact, maybe out of respect/fear of shooting off the rail and because I'm scrunched in some ways I...

head/body position stuck on the rail

a still from a video I took of myself..alignment looks ok, but obviously angled I'm not sure why I appear so crooked, but I'm adjusting because I'm on the rail I guess I'm looking for any nuggets on positioning oneself, shooting off the rubber and please let me know if you see anything in the...

    Wood or carbon?

not sure what a vantage shaft weighs, but what I've seen of kielwood shaft weight has deterred me from pursuing one I thought the torrefaction process produces a lighter product- wondering how they can be heavier, and how heavy?

    Whats your butt weigh?

good point, and something I think is easy to ignore..weight can be the same, but if you don't like the balance point of the butt, it could throw the cue off
