    Your First Time

grew up in a small farm town in central Illinois. The guy that ran the pool room had a son, Ronnie, a year older than me. Ronnie and I would knoc;k the balls around on the back....crappiest...table, not really playing any game, just taking turns shooting. We were 9 years old or so. 15 years...

How many still have the first cue they ever bought?

my first was a very cheap Player cue I bought in the mid-1990s. Really crappy, soon moved to a Meucci, then an Espiritu, then a Schon, another Schon and my "Christmas present" 2024, a COM Joss, just cause I wanted one and thought they were nice cues. Haven't even hit a ball with it. A couple...

Why do players seem to want the same cue, tip, and specs that their favorite player uses?

Just curious..... 19 ounces seems to be the standard cue weight for most pocket billiard games. What is the standard weight for a snooker cue?? I know as a kid I played with 12/13 ounce cues off the wall. What about a 3 cushion standard weight cue??

    Efren's Tip

I think he has played with Elkmaster for years, if not decades. With his skill, he could play with tips made from melted plastic toy soldiers.

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

The Green Room in Tucker Georgia came pretty close. A couple dozen well maintained tables, great sound system playing blues music at a background level, you could talk over the music, a full service bar and....this was the missing item....great BBQ on the menu. The Four B's.....Booze, BBQ...

    Buddy Hall - RIP

Met him about 25 years ago in a pool room near the Tampa airport. He was just shooting with a couple friends, nothing serious.

Do most pool cue shippers have very little common sense, or are they just lazy and do not care about the way they package a pool cue when shipping it?

By the time they are shipping the cue, they already have your money and care no longer.
