Yup, Aranas aka Dodong Diamond. His matter has been discussed a little in recent Hanoi Open thread, @iusedtoberich

Jimmy Fusco vs Johnny Archer - 1989 Memphis Open

Some of Accu-Stats tapes are very valuable not for the level of play but for legendary commentary. Also, I think, seeing champions miss awfully proves they are all human, and also show pool is not as easy game as one could imagine, especially when its mental part takes over under pressure. That...

2025 Reyes Cup, Oct 16-19, Manilla. Team Asia vs Team World

A dream event would be Philippines vs Rest of Asia, then Mosconi Cup Europe vs USA, and the winners meet in a big final matchup

    MR format racking preferences

I prefer a game played according to official WPA rules of play. There is a clear statement: balls are to be racked randomly. Hence, there is no ground for any personal preference. Of course, there is always an option of following "my home, my rules" principle.

Well, Django just said Efren missed Day 1 but is present tonight. Must have been a doppelganger then. Also the MC gave Efren a special welcome now.

Efren was spotted in VIP first row seating during opening match at least. Must have been there whole day long, with Aristeo Puyat also.

Take me in the same boat with ya. MR should have kept the formula they declared: winning Mosconi Cup team vs Asia. Do you all remember how it was presented last year? "You fans were asking for it, here you go" (Team Asia in teams invitational event). I dislike the whole idea of Team ROW where...

And they even do not have to predict anything, the bookies only correct the money flow with their rates. In the end bookmakers get their "rake" regardless of the outcome (by never offering 100. or 1 to 1 payout, for a coin toss, as an example). Unless a very big upset happens (i.e. a player or a...

A new measure of tournament toughness: Harmonic Field Strength

I recall we used to utilize a system locally, that there was a "strength coeffitient" for every tournament run under this system. Based on rankings of every player involved. And finishing high at a "stronger" (harder) tournament added to player's ranking more than similar finish at a lesser...

I guess they will correct that. When next US Open comes, haha. Until then, they wouldn't care.

Controversial question- how long do you keep a dead player on Fargo?

(garczar, as usual, tends to forget this is an open forum for any pool-related questions we have , and seems to fail just walking by anything he does not feel fitting his own framework)

Controversial question- how long do you keep a dead player on Fargo?

I just chimed in to suppose it will. Provided on how FargoRate works, as per Mike Page described. FR numbers for players depend on those racks played against their opponents, to such extent that even if a certain player was on hold for a year or two, his FR is going to fluctuate, based on how...

    Reyes cup 2025.

No, really, let's stick to one thread, shall we? It will be more convenient in the end. This one started occasionally, and was based on some delusional news article (with yesteryear team rosters). While we have a nice special thread for Reyes Cup 2025 already...

It's the showrunners who are in the know. Who is who and who deserves what, by points earned and/or despite earning way too short or more than enough. We will have to wait until the word is out.

Poolplaya9, you have a telling AZB signature, and mention many things which are up to the point. But bitter things about Matchroom are unpopular at AZB forums, and it makes little sense going over them here. Regardless of their clarity. I had to learn it my way, lol. All we can do is merely...

WNT Hanoi Open 2025, Vietnam, Oct 7-12

Jay, AFAIK in modern days it is the opposite. I've heard referees are trained to perform like that, in order to be out of sight of a shooting player. Of course there are exceptions to this, and a referee is free to take any position he/she feels ideal in order to make proper judgement, but in...
