I asked no other than JJ, as there was too much misinformation. So, officially and from the horse's mouth: corners are 4 inches, sides are 4.25

Patter racking is forbidden by the official 9-ball (not nineball) regulations. And there is a perfect solution for an experiencded referee, if one works at a certain match. One of the refs here at Jeddah does possess this useful knowledge btw, and it was nice to see (and no, it is not Marcel).

It's the head referee's responsibility. I don't know whether it is Brandon Moore (who MR hired as such for their WNT) or Marcel Eckhardt in this instance, but whoever, it is his main job. To provide proper and consistent ref work throughout the whole event from day 1 regardless of the status...

From what I noticed (without really trying to pay attention) wood shafts are used mostly by Asian players. Perhaps even by those who can't afford a $500-600 funny toy. I hope the reason is really they understand true value of a great wood shaft and respect that a lot.

A pretty knowledgeable friend of mine couldn't navigate how to find the brackets for about half an hour, until he gave up and asked me. And I would have not known the answer myself, had I not learnt the hint from wonderful AZB forum earlier :D

Quick glance at the bracket provided by @spartan gave me 9 players. I bothered to count only Pinoys, and I guess no other country has more. (Usually there also as many Polish guys who advance to single elims, but here they did not even participate at the extent they normally do).
