Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

I have never played where perimeter lighting was used yet. Its also not my only method for aiming. I use ghost ball, contact point, fractional, and CTE, doesn't everyone use multiple aiming "systems"? On super thin hits how would you even use contact point or fractional, to me that would be...

That looks outstanding!!!!! Were you able to save the diamonds on the rails? Thats one thing that always concerned me, how to save them and make it look good.

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

I have not seen anyone mention lights or the light reflection on the object ball. I use that a lot when I can, I know I cant be the only one who does that.

Points, Inlays, Veneers, Ringwork, and other embellishments

I think it has more to do with the wood than the inlays, points or rings. I have merry widow Viking from the 80's that hits nice as do my D series McDermotts but my best hitting cue is an old Titlist. I cant say its a great hitting cue because that is far too subjective, if people all felt the...

Is a pool tournament not gambling?

As I recall when I won our WI state BCA tournament they deducted taxes from my winnings.

Do Aramith balls come in a sealed box?

Who cares if the ball set was purchased and returned? What if the even the shrink wrapped set was purchased and returned? Being shrink wrapped doesnt mean that they were not previously purchased and returned. The only thing that matters is that they look like Aramith balls and are they in...

    Identify this GC model???

They must have a lot of hours of play to start wearing the wood grain off of the Formica. I guess Im lucky that my GCI has no wear, chips, dents, or scratches in the Formica.

    (Un)Popular Opinion on Fargo Rate

To me it seems like a 30-40 point FR difference is pretty much an even match, either player can win. Doesn't BCA spot 1 game per 50 points of FR? If so its not really that shocking that 606 FR won the tournament.

How to Judge SPLIT HITS … Everything You Need to Know

I absolutely picked up on the very thin hit, object ball being hit twice and looking like a good hit even though it was in fact a bad hit and the need for slo-mo video to catch it. I only watched the video once but I felt it was made plainly clear.

    Chicago pool happenings

If you frequent the hood as often as you claim you are likely to find yourself with bullet hole in your head sooner or later if you don't. With your wealth of experience how many shootings have been in the middle, must be more than me because I avoid bad areas when possible. The real question...

Yapp’s Controversial Tournament-Winning Shot in the 8-Ball World Championship … Was it a Foul?

I don't agree with that. I think in most matches the viewer wants 1 player or the other to win which makes the outcome of the call very important. I think the viewer also wants to see a replay of the shot so he can make an informed decision himself on whether its a good hit or not.

OB slow roll to the pocket and stops at the very edge - foul

Did the same person also tell you that if the cue ball is very close to or touching the rail you move it a chalk width away??

    Chicago pool happenings

Can you not see how small the cars are in that pic? You are basing an argument on a very lame picture. I never said we were nervous about driving past dangerous neighborhoods, I merely said that it wasn't a place I would choose to hang out. You can drive thru whatever neighborhoods that you...

    Fedor’s “new” chalk…

Chalking is such an ingrained part of the game and PSR that I don't think I would want a chalkless tip even if it did work as good or better than using chalk.

    Chicago pool happenings

A long time ago AZB had a member pool gathering that as I recall was at Chris's. I missed the event, I was really hoping that another AZB member gathering would happen again.
