Cues inside cases stored horizontally, will they warp?

I would think a simple string adjustment would move the neck .001. That's an awful small amount. Typical oil clearance on rod and main bearings is .002"-.0035", when the parts are torqued you cant feel any movement.

    Spot on the wall distance

I used to play in an 8 ball league that played 1 rail bank on the 8 or 3 rail kick at the 8. I got pretty good at the spot on the wall thing. Most "venues" we played at it was pretty tough to be able to use a consistent distance for your "spot on the wall". I would start by checking the table...

White vault plate vs Black vault plate, does it matter?

What is the purpose of a vault plate? Kamui has those clear pads on some of their tips and as I understand its just there to make it easier/better for gluing the tip on. One of my friends takes the Kamui tip off of the clear pad then uses it on other tips, in that case the clear pad really...

    A quick fix for pool

I use the 5 second skip feature on my computer, as soon as the shooter gets down on the shot I quit skipping ahead.

    A quick fix for pool

Soccer and basketball (I think that's what you meant by "basket") are pretty much each a single sport played by people of various ages, mostly younger people. I cant even think of all of the different forms of motorsport from road racing, drag, circle track, rally, endurance, off road, sand...

    A quick fix for pool

Its possible but I have often heard its auto racing. When you take into consideration the amount of facilities and also the different forms of motorsport its pretty easy to accept.

    A quick fix for pool

Auto racing is the biggest spectator sport in the world. Some motorsport parks have more disciplines at a single facility than there are common pool games, that does seem to hinder auto racing.

    Meucci Diamond Ebony

I have a D series McDermott that is Ebony. One day I started wondering if it was just painted wood because the grain is not visible. That's when I discovered that you can in fact see the wood grain under very bright lights.

Max Eberle on people who play on barboxes "Pool players need to grow some balls"

Why is it that a bad player only gets better playing a much better player even? Why wouldn't the weaker player get any better playing the better player with a spot?? What exactly is it that prevents the weaker player from improving if he gets a spot??

    Putting Education on the Table

I always thought the problem was the availability of alcohol, shows you what I know. Its also fascinating that they are calling pool a game of chance, its as much a game of chance as bowling is. Or I can word that a little differently, the dude that called pool a game of chance has no chance of...

    Putting Education on the Table

I should have explained it better. Why are underage folks allowed in bowling alleys but not pool rooms??

Max Eberle on people who play on barboxes "Pool players need to grow some balls"

I just don't understand the hate for barboxes (when I say barbox I mean 7' Diamond, I rarely have to play on Valleys) I have to walk down a flight of stairs to play on a nice 9 footer but I still love playing on barboxes. It is still challenging, nothing goes in by itself just because the table...

    Putting Education on the Table

What about bowling alleys? They serve alcohol and as far as I know underage people were always allowed in them, heck, they even have junior leagues.

Tuxedo Cues: love 'em, hate 'em, or meh?

They grew on me. I have been thinking of having a custom made for a few years now, at first I was thinking about a Titlist style cue but now I think I would have a Tuxedo cue made. Always been a fan of Ebony, I have 2 Ebony cues, one being my shooter.

    Spin-to-Speed or Revolutions-per-Foot?

The thing is that nobody knows what they do not know, nobody will ever know if this information will help them unless they (or someone else) studies it and attempts to apply it. In the early days of pool nobody knew that you could draw the cue ball until someone did it.

Answers to Common QUESTIONS About Using SIDESPIN ... When, Why, and How to Use It

When I started playing about 15 years ago I didnt use much side spin at all, I first wanted to learn where the cue ball was going by staying on the vertical center. I did and still do use stun a lot, its pretty amazing how well you can work your way around the table using only stun, follow, and...

Answers to Common QUESTIONS About Using SIDESPIN ... When, Why, and How to Use It

I'm only spinning a ball in if I have to, like an obstruction or a very, very thin cut.
