    Cavernous Pockets...

The first table I played on as a teenager was an 8’ with huge pockets and shallow shelves. I couldn’t say the precise pocket dimensions but the had to be at least 5” in the corners. Needless to say transitioning to a 9’ back then was a rude awakening. Fast forward to getting my first 9’ table...

Frank Oliva and the Ten-Twenty game

That rulebook would be a great addition to a billiard collection, but I’d like access to the complete original TV episodes if they exist. Preferably remastered. Probably locked up in some vault somewhere…

    Rules for playing 61

I’ve read and reread the BCA rules for Rotation (aka 61) dozens of times, and while the general rules are easy to understand, the rules and penalties for tracking number of fouls is not. To me, the rules encourage causing your opponent to commit three consecutive fouls for loss of game. Maybe...

BilliardManager - Your pool tracking app for iOS and Android

Can’t speak for the developer, but eliminating the advertising was #1 perk for me.

BilliardManager - Your pool tracking app for iOS and Android

This app was recently updated to include three levels of Equal Offense. 🙂 My only recommendation would be a pause feature on the timer. Otherwise appreciate the updates and improvements 👍🏼

    I record myself playing pool...

I think recording myself allows me to see my patterns from a different vantage. And of course for reviewing mechanics/stroke. I’d do it more but find setting up the phone and tripod a tedious process.

    When to replace cloth

Going on 3.5 years with 860HR that sees several hours of solid play per week. I've got the typical breaking burn lines, but overall it appears and plays like just broken in. I admit to using clean equipment (balls/chalk) religiously and occasionally brush with Simonis X1 when needed. I've...

Actor from the Baltimore bullet has died

Liked him as the notorious gambler/fixer Arnold Rothstein in ‘Eight Men Out’

    "legends" of today

In addition to all the above I would add Mike Zuglan I’d also say Dallas West and Ray Martin but those cats are in their 80s (and congrats to them!)

    Poolgame: Wizardball

I can hardly find anyone willing to play Rotation and do basic addition. I appreciate the creativity and (gasp) play Cowboy by the BCA rules, but the scoring here is way too complicated, not to mention the ball set is guaranteed to be confusing as a spectator. We can barely make out 9 balls...

Taom V10 messy in dry heated climate

Humidity in my 18x20 room during winter months measured by hygrometer stays between 30-40%. Using V10 I get very light (and I mean LIGHT) amounts of fine powder occasionally on the CB, maybe a dot here and there on the cloth. That’s nothing compared to the chalk granule streaks and debris I...

Wonder what they would think of LED perimeter lights.

$30 for a piece of chalk...What's your favorite chalk to use?

Skids/kicks/cling/rolloff/grit are bigger chalk concerns than miscuing. While I prefer Taom, I wouldn’t use it on a flat tipped bar cue.

Archer / Sigel from 1993 tonight

Couple great Grady quotes in this one: “I normally excel in anything that doesn’t make money” “All pool players are possessed of talents possibly better utilized elsewhere” Also, there’s a CB foul not seen/called at 30:17 prior to the break.

    perimeter light

These perimeter LED lights look like literal game changers even from LEDs in traditional lighting cans. If the OP is using this product he may want to double check, but it’s not dimmable. The site says its LEDs are rated 50,000 hours of life. In a perfect world that seems like plenty, or...

No dispute that Efren is the GOAT, but who is the 9 ball GOAT?

@azhousepro Maybe there’s Accu-Stats footage of the ‘88 US Open 9B Championship to upload? Or anything Accu-Stats related with ‘Spanish Mike’ Lebrón? In the meantime there’s this:

No dispute that Efren is the GOAT, but who is the 9 ball GOAT?

Watched the videos and I don’t know much about Mike LeBron, but how on earth did he qualify for this tournament against a hall of farmer and 4 future HoF’s? Wow There’s something fishy about the entire event. Looked like Buddy really had to work for that dump if that was what was going on...

    Another Kamui chalk...

My Roku 6 cleanliness/performance experience is much closer to Pyro than Master. I still get some chalk dust fallout with R6 but it’s nowhere as tacky/gritty and doesn’t adhere to literally everything like Master. R6 is very good chalk but I’ll continue with Taom.
