CueBillet CNC GCode generator for Ring Billets

I have created an evaluation version of CueBillet and posted it to my website. The evaluation version allows GCode programs to be generated for surfacing slabs to thickness. The other functions of CueBillet are included in the program for visual review, but no GCode is created for them...

    Coring, tolerances?

I believe that to be accurate. I'm not sure myself, but I heard the difference is sooooo small it takes a Geschrey to measure it.

What's the difference between a room full of cuemakers and a room full of fools?

    Coring, tolerances?

Add steps in the core and Counterbore the rear of the forearm to .750, the rest of the forearm being .650 or 11/16. Nothing says a full length core has to be the same diameter the entire length. I also made a ring expanding jig. http://dzcues.com/trim_ring_jig.html Works perfectly for...

    Coring, tolerances?

Why constrain the cores to .750? My gun drills are .650, 11/16, .775, 13/16. By the gun drill and then turn your cores to match the tolerance you want with the particular glue you ultimately use. When ready to install ringwork, butt caps, etc, turn the tenons down to fit the mating component.

Dymondwood butt and shaft dowels FS

I have five butt sized (1.36" or so) dymondwood dowels and 3 shaft (about 1") sized dymondwood dowels for sale. These are original Rutledge turned from squares (I hope I never do that again). The 1" dowels are around 30" long, the large ones around 30.5" long. $55 for the butt sized dowels...

    cue lathe problems

It is still all taig equipment, no? Much of it stock pieces? If you are not comfortable selling it to someone as a cue lathe, you could sell off all of the parts on ebay. Some of the parts you might sell easily here.

    Wood ID help

Zoologists often argue about the taxonomy of various species. There is a lack of objective criteria that determines genus (some plants get switched now and then), but a lot of the decisions are made due to leaf form and plant morphology. The timber characteristics is probably one the last...

So, how much really is "straight grain" important?...

You can't look at slow growth/high ring count and say the wood will be more dense and fewer rings will mean less dense. It doesn't work that way. You don't know what conditions caused the slow growth. You don't know if there was a nutrient shortage or a water shortage causing the slow...

    Who recognizes what this is?

Thank you kindly. My X axis has a different coupler that uses a harder red plastic spider. I asked the guy who helps support the old Techno-Isel (what I own) machines if it would be worth it for me to upgrade the other axes to the same. He said it would not make a difference in accuracy of...

    Who recognizes what this is?

The encoder in my Z servo decided to go bad. The pic is what is left of the coupler spider after the crash at (probably) the servos top speed. I have been told when the spiders fail, they FAIL. With such a small travel (compared to x/y), it crashed at one end of the travel, then reversed and...
