This one had a couple of minor dings I was able to raise with just wet sanding. It does have a surface crack. I will dimension it out next weekend and see where I am sitting. I am still waiting for my 5/16 14 tap. They sent the 7/16 14 but failed to ship the 5/16. :rolleyes: Hopefully soon.

So finish turning my router mount into an engine mount for a 68 olds and am ready to mount up my first cue refinish. I measure out 29 inches off of one of the cheap ace cues I have in the shop and start cutting. I hit something hard halfway through and immediately stop. I look in the cut and see...

Better? I can hang off of this.... I used one of the tool holder screws to keep it square. I left the previous mount hole so I can use it as a cord holder. What ya think of me now? :)

So I will try to make this a boring post. (badump bump tsh) So what do you all use to core your wood? Ream? Gun Drill? Long Drill? Boring bar? And what would be a good place to get these things reasonably priced? Thanks

Thanks for the detailed info! Yes my riser is a block of cocobolo wood. I will redrill the the hole in the bracket to get it closer to the angle. Planning on picking up some u bolts today to help hold the router better on the bracket. I still have to have the router as high as it is because...

What downside is there in missing that .0625 of wood? I could bore up if needed but just wanted to know if I absolutely needed to.

Nice. If it fit a dewalt router I would consider it. I thought about making a fork out of the base so it would fit in my tool post but opted for this sturdier option. I could mount the 1/2 inch aluminum to the block and then drill a hole for the tool post set pin in the underside to lock it in...

With the tool post screwed down I pulled and pushed on the router and it did not move. What might you suggest it make it more secure?

1.5 inches. Router is very secure although I will be adding u bolts as suggested.

Having the wax on there does not help much either. I bought a couple of totes of hardwood yesterday. I have two weeks until the antique shop closes and we get everything moved out. Next I have around 15 house cues I have to work on putting joints in. Then I will be breaking into those boxes...
