The DELTA-13 rack, is it good? too expensive or worth the cost?

I was skeptical when I first heard about this "high-tech" rack. I mean c'mon, could it really be that good? It is. Wood warps, plastic bends, and every rack I've used has a problem getting all the balls to touch perfectly. I used the Delta 13 once, and I was actually surprised that it could...

Appleton vs Hatch $20k -30K confirmed

People *are* aware that Darren Appleton is the current 10-Ball World Champion, right? That said, I don't think there's a favorite here. They're both absolute monsters, and I'm glad to see Dennis back in the big leagues. Maybe he can take some time off from picking on the Joss Tour! TAR, I...

Quitting Smoking and Its Effect On One's Pool Game...

Why am I focused on my pool game? Because I know I can quit smoking. Quitting smoking isn't the issue here. Maintaining my cool at the table is. I posted this *not* for suggestions how to quit smoking. There are plenty of resources online for that, and I've got a good group of friends to...

Quitting Smoking and Its Effect On One's Pool Game...

Fortunately I'm on the patch. Unfortunately, I'm still easily agitated. I've found that making an effort to breathe while shooting helps. Of course, it wasn't something I stumbled upon alone. Last night after practice with one of my sparring partners, I kept on with the practice after he had...

Quitting Smoking and Its Effect On One's Pool Game...

I'm quitting smoking, and I'm all agitated and fidgety after a few days without the nicotine. Any helpful suggestions from those who have quit, to remain calm and loose? I had a few practice sets with a teammate, and beat him 7-1, 7-2, 7-4. Despite the wins, and a few great break and runs...

    One-Pocket Strategy Question

I've *never* seen good one-pocket players play this move needing one (and the opponent needing two). Yes, it's a viable shot but percentage-wise, only the Ronnie Allens of the world would attempt it. Typically, I've seen players glance off the head ball moving both balls toward their pocket...

Need to re-tip my cue ASAP - NYC

Normally I do it myself, but I've got a Predator shaft and the ferrules are *soooo* soft. Have to be way careful with the razor blade when you remove the tip and then try and make it flat for the new one. It's too much of a headache without a lathe.

Need to re-tip my cue ASAP - NYC

Anyone know when Danny Barouty is at ABC doing cue / shaft work? My tip needs replacing and I need it done by this Sunday. Any ABC kids know his schedule? Alternatively, anyone know someplace other than Masters where I can get this done soon? Many thanks!

Bustamante vs. Chao video: Wild hill-hill rack for $50K

Ah, hah! Searching for Bustamante and Chao would have been too obvious. You would have had to search for Busty and Pang! http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=1706487&postcount=4

Low deflection shafts less important when playing one-pocket?

I think you're pretty spot on here. There just aren't as many shots in one pocket that constantly require tons of english and a hard stroke. There's definitely minimal cueball movement. Hell, I've played pretty decent one-pocket games with a house cue without missing my Predator. Once in a...

Who is the best small pocket table 9 ball player in america?

Two guys who I witnessed in California running out on 4" pockets were Max Eberle and Tony Chohan. They were playing sickeningly aggressive shots, making triple-shimmed pockets look like buckets.

Team Names That You Like For League Night

I play in the Amsterdam Billiards team 9-ball league, but my teammates and I mostly come from Broadway Billiards. Fittingly, especially now that Broadway has closed, we're known as "Off Broadway."

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

Speaking of never missing a bank that mattered, that reminds of of a funny time he was playing Big D some 9-ball. It's hill-hill and D missed a tough cut on the 9-ball but leaves Eddie with a tough, long bank on the nine ball. Eddie is so furious that D missed and left him safe, that Eddie has...
