Top 1 List re the Upgrade Process and the New Software!!

    1. Instead of wasting my time reading AZB threads, I have more time to play pool.

    How to win from here?

I'm guessing you ran to the 5-ball, and kicked off the side rail into the 5-ball, caroming the 9-ball into the lower left corner.

I lost $100, he didn't pay my time...

I guess the lesson here is not to treat your opponent with so much disrespect. At least you now know the boundaries of the winner-pays-table-time rule.

    8ball

I think he's talking about the World 8-Ball Championships, not the US Bar Table Championships. The last I heard, it was postponed indefinitely.

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

I'll try and get their names soon enough. Sadly, Spanish Eddie wasn't there so I couldn't snap a pic of him. Maybe it's best that I didn't blow his cover!

I lost $100, he didn't pay my time...

I'm thinking I just wasted three minutes of my life reading that.

A few pictures for anyone interested. I haven't gone through to sort anything out or photoshop them yet, so you'll be wading through a lot of garbage... but here ya go: http://picasaweb.google.com/stevenpwaldon/LastNightAtBroadwayBilliards#

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

I took plenty. There were a few other guys taking some as well (William Fuentes, among others). I'll post some this weekend once I have a chance to download them from my camera. I probably took a few gigs worth of photos. I'm glad I got to see a lot of the regulars... Chinese Frank, Slim...

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

For anyone interested, I brough along a digital SLR and took a few hundred pictures of everything going on inside (and from the street). Lots of the regulars showed up tonight, some not having found out until tonight that they're closing down. A sad evening. I couldn't stay much longer...

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

I was there last night, and everything was sort of up in the air. When I grabbed a table last night, I was told that last night (Thursday) would be the final night. This came as news to everyone, as the owners had remained tight-lipped about it. Later in the evening, I heard that tonight...

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

A few notes on the tables: Some are good, some are bad. Broadway never worked on all the tables at the same time.... they'd do 4 or 5 tables every few months, so the quality of the tables is inconsistent. They're all Gold Crowns, although I never paid enough attention as to whether they're Is...

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

A few people have asked so I figured I'd reply here: The tables are in decent condition, and a bargain at $500. Two of them are purchased already, #5 and #18. Everything must be out by Monday.

R.I.P. - Broadway Billiards in NYC

I'm going to see if I can try and pick up a rack of balls or the "No Smoking" sign that everyone would smoke in front of on the stairway. Good times!

    Smorgass Bored Update

Doug, you're an inspiration to us all. The next time I curse myself out for missing a ball because of too much deflection, I'll humble myself and think of the strength you've shown to come through all of this. Sometimes the rest of us sweat the small stuff, oblivious to the big picture. I...

FWIW, they finally installed a lock in the men's bathroom! Too bad their timing could have been any worse.
