    Touch of Center

never said anything about one size fits all...everyone will vary in those components but they are the foundation of a golf swing and a pool stroke.....sure there are knowledge based aspects of both and feel in both....both of those are developed through feedback and experience... and yes I...

    Touch of Center

I have found some things that not only cross over but I think some of the things taught in golf are missing in fundamental pool teachings.... The major thing is...there is really only 4 major components that you have control over for either golf or pool.....grip, stance, posture and...

    Touch of Center

Thanks for the reply CJ.....I reconstructed my game last year and my form is largely based on golf techniques I have converted to pool and techniques from your original DVD.... your explanation helps...I tend to relate to golf analogies ...I will have to play around with this...there are some...

    Unforseen benefit of TOI

I guess what I don't understand is....if you can't hit center cb on a consistent basis...how are you going to consistently pick and hit the same amount of TOI on a consistent basis. I have reference points for center axis...I am going to need to use those same reference points to find TOI...

OMGWTF Disses Mike Dechaine, in style

This is why I stop bothering to come here.....why do I need to read the obvious all the time......mods don't need to flex your banning muscle in public while hijacking a thread and turning it into yet another bicker bore......send a PM to the perpetrator...ban the perpetrator...or start yet...

    Touch of Center

It is hard to argue with a world champion...I actually use many of CJs techniques...I also have his original DVD that I think is one of the best all around instructionals available... As with all pros though I can't seem to relate to every technique out there....TOI is one of them. I am a...

    One rail kick/bank...looks easy?

I am by no means a geometry expert...but using the OPs method why would it make a difference between using the rail track, rail nose, (or other part of the rail) for the OB and CB line points??...seems like as long as you use the same for both...you will get the same intersection point. I...

How do you think the game on the table has changed over time?

Hmmmmm.....the pockets have changed and the cloth has changed...should the strategy remain the same?

Trouble with almost straight in shots

Here is something to try...I use this method for all shots...Before you look at the almost striaght in OB to the pocket line...look at the CB to the pocket line...then notice how the OB to the pocket line will be slightly off...you will now see the CB to OB line. Many times that straight in...

    question about SVB's aiming

So much for this thread sticking to the OPs question:rolleyes:

    One rail kick/bank...looks easy?

I use the method..I use the rail nose as a reference point for ease of use. It really does not matter though...As with all methods...they are only a tool to help you gain the feel for the bank...There are going to be too many added forces/conditions/variables beyond the exact geometrical...

What aiming system incorporates cue ball control ?

The Tsquared method I came up with and use adds an element of CB control...but it is not a method you will see in any books or taught by anyone...so until I win the US open....you probably won't hear about it.:)

    one rail kicks

Wow...that is a lot of work for a one rail kick/bank.

    One rail kick/bank...looks easy?

Mini mirror method....I use that method...I think it is easier to use than any other method I have seen....It not only works ball to pocket as shown...it works ball to ball also...and I think is very effective...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

The most important part of this whole thread was only "touched" on... Just like in Golf.....Wrist action is secondary....The most important part is the "grip"....If you don't have the correct grip...you can forget about proper wrist action......Part of the grip is "grip pressure"....use the...

The Aftermath of the Bullshooters 1 Pocket Tournament w/ a Bunch of Free Match Videos

Good show on the stream Lenny... Tres has been around the block a few times and knows how to run a tournament...I am not surprised at all how smooth the tournament went. Side note Lenny...I am actually starting to play some 1-pocket...perhaps we can get together for some practice...

    what is YOUR preshot routine?

I would not be surprised to find out that your buddy sets up different for long shots than for short shots....or is doing something inconsistent from the short shots that causes him to murder the shot... I think you should find the best "natural" stance for aiming (for you) period...it may be...

    what is YOUR preshot routine?

What if you are severe left eye dominant??? I guarantee you Earl, Scott (Frost), Neils...would never put the cue directly under the chin on a "key" shot. I for one can not pocket a ball with the cue directly under my chin....so why would I ever put it there???
