Hopefully this will help to visualize which parallel lines work and which don't. You want to point the object ball at the pocket, not the cue ball.

It's already aimed pretty wide... even so I doubt it'll throw enough to catch the 13. I'm not even sure my kick into the 12 throws it enough toward the pocket.
Even worse, it spreads balls toward the opponent's pocket.

To visualize this, think of the cue ball frozen to the object ball as it makes contact to make the shot (the ghost ball position) - the line from the pocket passes through both balls’ centers and contact points at the same angle (parallel). The line to the pocket from the cue ball’s starting...
Nice creativity, but the problem is speed - the 2-11 is such a thin cut that you'd need a lot to move the 13 at all. The upside is you can probably jack up and stop the cue ball safe behind the 6.

I like the creativity, but even off the 1 that's almost a 90-degree cut on the 5, so you'd have to hit it break speed to move the 8 to the pocket. I still wanna shoot it.

Yes, the break is a defensive shot, leaving the CB (ideally) frozen to the long rail with the remaining cluster of rack balls protecting balls you’ve moved near your pocket.
I’m looking at using the 10 somehow…
