    8 foot table advice

Well, I consider the GC and Diamonds the best, but there is a Connelly factory right in Tucson and also in Phoenix (don't know if they're still in business). The nice thing is that they run a monthly special on a different model table every month. A substantial savings. Good luck with...

    Finally!!!!

Congrats on acquirering a beautiful table. Really enhances the room. When I first saw the picture you posted I immediately noticed the lights and uneven lighting of the table. Everything is so expensive now-a-days but good luck on getting a new one. Now, kick back and enjoy playing.

    Threaded Pool Bridge

Thanks for the suggestion guys. Lowe's was closer and I did find the thread tester (although I had to ask 5 Lowe's guys before one of them pointed me to the right aisle). I think the help at Home Depot are a lot more knowledgeable. Anyhow, I got the info and thank you once again.

    Threaded Pool Bridge

I'm not certain if this is the right forum for this. Someone gave me two brass pool bridges. I'm trying to determine the thread size. The larger hole is about 1/2" diameter and is threaded to screw onto a pool cue. The two feet are also threaded and about 1/4" diameter. Can anyone help me...

    Blue Diamond vs. Balabuska Chalk

Although I like Master's Green chalk, I'm considering buying some Blue Diamond or Balabuska chalk just to see why some people rank them higher than Master's. Now the problem is to buy Blue Diamond or Balabuska. I've run some searches on both and I'm still uncertain. One main question would be...

Forkbit tool for antique Brunswick rails.

You're right. It was called a "brace" not an "auger". I still have mine and it's at least 50 years old. Haven't used it in 20 years.

Forkbit tool for antique Brunswick rails.

If I remember correctly (had an old Brunswick 30 some years ago) I used my auger hand drill. I believe they were made to fit those.

    Earl pool table?

Nice looking table for $500. I would guess that they're Chinese knock-offs of Brunswick Gold Crowns. Hopefully, someone who's knowledgeable with these tables will respond.

Diameters of pool-shafts from professional players

I'm far from a professional but I shoot with a 11.75mm tip diameter because that's what I like. Tips and tip diameters are very subjective. You may not like what I like. So, who cares what SVB or Earl or anyone else uses. It's what you feel comfortable with that's important. Don't fall...

What's a good cue cleaner you use?

As stated, Magic Eraser is the best. It comes in a sheet about 3x5x1/2". I cut mine into strips about 1/2" wide and carry a strip in my cue case. After each playing session, just quickly clean the shaft. Only takes seconds and your cue looks new next time you play. It's also great for...

    Magic Rack vs. Delta 13

I prefer the Delta 13. The noise, when racking, is music to my ears.

Pro's and con's of very small diameter shafts?

I've been shooting with a McDermott I-3 for about 3 years now. The 11.75mm tip diameter enables me to hit the cue ball with geometric precision. Just yesterday I was playing a game of 8 ball. I had an easy 7 ball in the lower right hand pocket but had 2 balls tied up about 3 inches above the...

It never fails. Bad things always happen to nice people. I've always enjoyed reading your posts Kicking Chicken. You have a sense of humor that always tickles. So sorry for the flood. Yes indeed Sahib, the Pool Gods were angry. But not because of the color of your cloth. Actually, it...

How Soon to Resume After Open Heart Surgery?

Congratulations on surviving and good luck for a rapid recovery. Sounds like excellent advice from another survivor. I would take it very easy for a while and feel that my body would tell me when I was ready. Baby steps. Again, wish you the best.
