Any known Reviews out there about HAMA cues, or their Hybrid Carbon / Maple shafts, from Japan?

No more EX Pro in 3/8x10 joint and 30" length but there are 29" EX Pros in United, Wavy, and Wavy 2 joints.

I'm wrong on that. I thought the CF piece was one piece. It has two CF pieces. One of the CF pieces is fastened to wood with joints at the CF and wood ends. The picture shows joints and tip with protectors on.

Any known Reviews out there about HAMA cues, or their Hybrid Carbon / Maple shafts, from Japan?

The Hama cue highlights the similarity between hybrid cues and regular carbon fiber cues. The difference is that Hama cue's carbon-fiber shaft is only about thirteen inches long --- the rest of the cue is wood. How different is that from a carbon fiber cue with a 30 inch shaft?? Why should...

    Decal cues are the best

Company on Etsy, XCueCustom, puts photos on cues. Some are lame but some are interesting art images. $170 with fiberglass shaft. https://www.etsy.com/listing/4465278544/urban-typo-pitbull-carbon-fiber-pool-cue

How do LOW-COST CARBON FIBER SHAFTS Perform Compared to the Best?

Dr Dave found Rhino had "off-the-charts" deflection for about 20% of hits and was due to a soft Time Crystal tip (video 6:00 minutes). The owner of the shaft had not found that and Dr Dave figured the differences were due to owner's jabbing stroke as opposed to Dr Dave's smoother, accelerating...

Rhino 'Time' and 'Time Crystal' tips

I wonder what the Rhino shaft is. I bought a Rhino direct from Rhino and, as I recall, I didn't get a box like that shown in the eBay post. Rhino, too, for a while sold under the Rhino name carbon fiber and fiberglass shafts. Is it possible this is an older Rhino style and fiberglass? Did...

Rhino 'Time' and 'Time Crystal' tips

The Rhino looks a little odd. Photos here from eBay of other Rhinos for sale also are equipped with the blue Time Crystal BUT the photos also show a brown one. The brown one has a black pad but not near the thickness you got. No description of what the brown tip is.

Rhino 'Time' and 'Time Crystal' tips

It doesn't look like a Time Crystal: i) lacks a clear layer; and ii) its not blue. Otherwise, its like what the fellow told you --- a multi-layer leather tip. Its got one thick black pad (plastic?)---about as wide as the vault plate. What tips come with a pad like that?

💥💥 Need help at Boston Library for historical billiard facts 💥💥

Briggs billiard company in existence for 92 years between 1870 and 1962. Changed from Oliver L. Briggs company to Oliver L. Briggs & Son in 1901. See proof below and at this link.

    Oliver Briggs Table

With Boston Public Library’s Malana's help, we discovered that the Oliver L. Briggs company was in business between 1870 and 1962. It was originally the Oliver L. Briggs company and changed to the Oliver L. Briggs & Son company in 1901. My cue sticks with O.L.Briggs & Son engraved on them...

More aiming fodder for the cannons.

Presume Mensabum’s statements are correct and there is little unconscious adjustment to correct any inaccuracy of his aiming method. How can it be that Mensabum learned this method from a pro who had learned it from another pro; @Ringo_6, likely independent of Mensabum, touts it and produced a...

How do LOW-COST CARBON FIBER SHAFTS Perform Compared to the Best?

I agree that taper is an important personal preference that could make the cheaper Rhino better than Rhino's Must. It also makes me wonder about getting a Jacoby V4 with its 19" pro taper.

    Help with ferrule material

Cue Components has linen ($12) and paper (wood $46). Cotton is a fiber and the cotton fiber ferrule is likely a cotton & wood ferrule. Could that be the Tweeten fiber ferrule at Schmelke's or maybe the paper $46 ferrule at Cue Components?

    Help with ferrule material

I suspect they were not just cotton but more likely wood pulp and cotton (how could cotton alone do the job?). From the post Cue Alchemist noted above:

More aiming fodder for the cannons.

Mensabum’s cue-ball-to-pocket contact-point aiming method was argued across 150 posts here in late June 2024. Some explained how Mensabum's method was inaccurate and inferior to a parallel-shift aiming method. The two methods determined the same object-ball contact point but differed on the...
