Cue Makers Keeping up with Jones's?

Cue makers I don't see the number 10, and as Andy said, it's from 1995. We leave the article up, because Tom is a respected writer and a lot of new cuemakers come into this business believe it's a cake walk. I said in another post, I will say 20 cuemakers are making a decent living doing it...

    what is a parabolic taper

parabolic taper Man, I thought this horse was long dead. I for one do not use a parabolic taper. I use a compound taper on butt section. Shaft changes at different rate but would be best called a multiple compound. There is no G-Code for a parabolic taper, so cnc has to do a butt load of...

    Are most cuemakers busy?

Are most I'm going to bump the number to 20. But with the economy, and the advent of hobby lathes, it's a tough business.

    FS Titanium Weight Bolts

FS Titanium Bolt Got mine the other day. Fast shipping. You aren't going to find a better deal on Titanium Bolts. Just look up the price of a piece of .875 rod. Don't even consider the pain in the ass titanium is to mill and tap. Quality is top notch. Added bonus is that there is plenty...

Would like some suggestions from cuemakers

Would like Ok, you picked Bob to make your cue. So let Bob come up with the combo's for you to choose from. Bob is a respected cuemaker, and I respect his work. Wood isn't consistant in color or pattern. He has it right in front of him, not some dream on a internet website. What other...

Do cuemakers collect cues from other current cuemakers

cuemakers collect cues I have a Chester Krick I would never part with. I know several cuemakers that have Haleys or are on the list. Andy Gilbert has a collection of purpleheart cues. I believe Cory Barnhart has a collection. What I haven't seen is many real cuemakers that are flippers.

    Any ideas?

Any ideas An in focus pic would really help. And if you are going to question some one why not name the cuemaker. If he's pulling s__t, he needs to be called out. Or is this a lame excuse to bad mouth cnc.

    State Champ Plays a Klein

Congrats to Robert Cleland, Texas BCA Senior 8 ball Champion. Robert has several Kleins, but this one sees the most action. We went thru several tapers till we came up with one that fit Roberts game perfectly. Old school at it's best.

Crap Southwest huh!? Let me cut it into half for ya!!

Ok, so don't take this wrong, but you had the cue in your hands, and I assume you have a set of dial calipers. Seems like it might have been prudent to map the cue before you reworked it.

    Potential counterfeit Bludworth Cue?

Blud Don't think you can prove it either way. There are Blud Blud's. Donald Blud's. and Mike Long Blud's. Blud didn't alway use the 11? pin. Blud used a lot of spaulding melamine for ferrules, but he could have used others. He did some press fit .250 tenon ferrules for a while. Let's put...

    gunsmith lathe

I may be mistaken, but even thou they are all the same basic castings. The finish out, gearing, bearings, and most importantly motor are up to the company importing them. Usually a foundry casts the raw parts, then a finishing factory takes over. The same foundry may supply multiple...

What happened to the old cue gallery

old cue No Rick, it's not all good nor will it ever be. I talked about techniques in another part of the forum. You attacked an organization that promotes cues. And you attacked me directly by name. So go glue you hands to your ass. Don't use your 5 minute epoxy, they won't stick. Time...

What happened to the old cue gallery

NO RICK, It was not a shot at you. I may not agree to some of your techniques, but you do your thing in "ask the cuemaker" and never say it's the best or only way to do it. It's your way, and you developed it and have every right to explain why you do it. And I have every right to point out...
